Around here we are supposed to report sick animals but there is no surviving deer CWD.Is there an animal sanctuary you can contact to give him more of a chance?

Yes here in Essex we have a flood alert. Also my colleagues and I were concerned about pupils on bikes in this wind!Yikes…some storm there in the UK
We’re sad to announce that #StormÉowyn has caused severe damage across our Gardens.
At #Edinburgh, 15 trees have been lost – either uprooted or damaged beyond recovery. This includes the Garden’s tallest tree, the 29-metre Cedrus deodara, planted in 1859
Interesting. I've never heard of a calor gas heater before. Please explain thank youGood to hear you're ok Angie, and I really hope your power stays on.
We're ok here at the moment but I do have a calor gas heater handy just in case. Take care.
I think he just looks comfortable and is taking a siesta. He looks somewhat young. Are you sure his mom didn't tell him to just hang out for a bit? and she's lurking...We finally got warmer temperatures m ps, I feel for you MS Cathie.
We have company today to watch football. We saw him walk up to the window and begin watching, get disgusted at how the skins are playing and turned around.

He's the little loner. Not sure he's going to make it.
To contrast, here is a healthy deer:
It's similar to the his CathieInteresting. I've never heard of a calor gas heater before. Please explain thank you![]()

It's been really bad in Ireland and Scotland. Whole rows of trees have been lost in Ireland. So sad to lose any tree but especially historic trees.Yikes…some storm there in the UK

You buy bottles of gas. Calor may just be the trade name, you can also get LPG gas bottles too. It's been very handy and soon warms up a room before the heating kicks in. The bottles last well too if only used occasionally when needed. I bought my last bottle back in November. It's good to have a back up with all the storms we have now.
I'm always a bit wary of them.Ok it probably is a trade name. I use those too but mine is a Mr heater big buddy if I have to.
I went through different emotions while watching. That is exactly why I would try to keep Ms. Sully from laying fertile eggs.Nice rescue here by Joshua Tree Reptile Haven. Poor old Sullies trapped on a roof for many years. Terrible pyramiding, super dehydrated.
No Ms Cathie, this one has been left to fend for itself. The other deer shun him and will run off if he comes into view. It's almost like they know something is wrong with him. He is always alone and its very sad for us to watch him degrade. We try to make "sense" of it but as every person here knows, it's very difficult. We came to the conclusion that the phone # for animal control is really a line to therapists who help get folks through it. LOL There isn't anything they can do short of removing him and we aren't about that yet. I've used 27 of my 31 lives(like a cat with 9 but different) so I'm not one to count him out yet....I've enjoyed too many "lucky as heck" moments!I think he just looks comfortable and is taking a siesta. We would be nothing without this wonderful place and the wonderful people like you
If the electricity goes out I'll have to depend on my Big Buddy and my little lap warmer Mr Fre for heatNo Ms Cathie, this one has been left to fend for itself. Space Heaters..... I used one of those 27 lives at 18 years old when Rodger pulled me from my burning trailer. The pillow had fallen right in front of the electric heater and filled the space with thick smoke. It wouldn't have taken but a couple more minutes and this ride would have been cut drastically short!
I have a Mr Heater 80,000btu diesel "salamander" for the garage and a "5kw parking heater" for my shed.
The shed heater has an exhaust pipe to go outside and also burns diesel fuel. I paid 52 bucks for it....equal to the Velvor model at $90. Same unit with a different name like so many item's from china are in fact so shop around! The garage heater is only run when I'm watching it. I even stay out there as the garage warms...it spews flames...so I don't trust it. The shed heater can run 10hr without any worries....I do trust that one, mostly.
Me too. A simple test with sudsy water can easily check for gas leaks though. I always do that when I fix one up with the canisters. You have to be careful when attaching the canisters though. The fittings can easily get screwedI'm always a bit wary of them.
Last year a friend was staying at a fishing lodge they own where they have always used bottle gas for heating and cooking, and one morning when she lit the gas to boil water, there was an explosion. The kitchen area was totally destroyed and although she was hospitalised with burns she's very lucky to be alive. I always disconnect mine when it's not in use.
