Happy Birthday Zola!

Hope all had a good one. I took my daughter & her boyfriend to the shooting range& while I was gone Kerry wanted to go to the store and couldn't find her keys. My Kerry is adhd.....bad....which makes her get a little whack when she looses something. So...let me try to engross you into her world for a moment. She began looking for her keys at 9am...she checked the house room by room when they weren't to be found in our "keypot". Then she checked her car without the key reasoning that if her key was in the car, it would be unlocked. Then she got the backup key and moved her car in case it was underneath and somehow out of range of the sensor. Then she checked all the chairs and sofa, behind the cushions in the TV room. Then she put the car back and ran inside to stop the washing machine to check the pockets of the clothes she had put in the laundry. Then she retraced all of those initial spots while checking new ones. I got home around 11 driving my truck and she had just gotten home after using the backup key to drive to the store and she prayed that somehow I had them so I walked in the door and she asked "do you have my car keys?"
"I don't think so"...as my hand slid into my front pocket...."oh here there are"

poor poor girl huh?

LOL
Jeff, I think it would be wise to sleep with one eye open tonight...😂

A couple of weeks ago - July 8th, to be precise, it was Zola's 25th birthday -mine too, but rather more years!
We took him to Torquay, a seaside resort in Devon (UK), and he enjoyed it very much, especially being wished a Happy Birthday by a great many people. When I was going through his photos, I thought some of them were rather good, and that people here would maybe like to see them too !
The Big Wheel wasn't working that day, but we took Zola on it during a previous expedition, and he seemed to like it,looking out high over the town.

Happy birthday to you both.
Zola is much more sociable than Lola. I took Lola to my door yesterday to show him to a neighbour's little girl, and he hated it - wouldn't come out of his shell at all. I might just as well have shown her a shoe box! 😀
Lola likes to go where he wants, when he wants - a lot like me really.

Wish me luck everyone, I am going to a scout camp tomorrow where we are going on a hike. The hike is from Friday to Saturday. Kids aged 7 to 14 are doing 5 km (3.1 miles) per day and kids 14 and above 8,5 km (5,28 miles) per day. Don't know yet what my job will be, as I kind of gave them the permission to place me anywhere.

The problem is the weather, we are expecting a high of 30 c (86 F) and a low of 16 c (60,8 F) during the night with thunderstorms on Thursday and Saturday. Everyone sleeps in tents through the whole camp from Thursday to Sunday.

Well, I'm hoping the weather (thunderstorms) are mild, or non existent.. Best of luck, & Enjoy!

Zola has a very calm nature generally, and really seems to enjoy meeting people -he looks at them in an interested way, and allows them to stroke him (under close supervision, of course). He can also make it very clear when he objects to something - and he is pretty strong with all the walking he does! I really like his serene expression in the photos, as he gazes at the world !

Summer Camp Counselor....naw there haven't been any comedy movies made about them...you should be fine. Should be. Lol have fun....kids are great. Be sure to listen to their conversations....they are a hoot.

Kerry rolled out this morning on a NY trip to see her college girlfriends tonight. She will come back Sat then we leave Sunday for a South Carolina trip next week for her late Aunt's service.

We had a discussion last night. "Hon, you won't let me have a hydroplane, girlfriends, a Fly Board or a GT40 race car. The hydroplane isn't sounding so bad now is it?"
I swear, next time I'm going to have that discussion when she's awake!

Enjoy the day guys and stay safe on the Trails FT.

Have a great time, I'm sure you'll come away with lots of wonderful memories and hopefully not heatstroke! 🙏🤞

I used to love all the outdoor activities with my pupils, when I was teaching. Layers are best to wear in temps with that sort of range, but I'm sure you already know that.
Stay safe and dry!

We were shown what hell-on-earth is like today here. Whew it was hot and humid. After Kerry left I put the battery charger on my little car and opened my air conditioned garage just long enough to move one of the bikes and face it in instead of out so I can jack it up later to work on the front forks. Then I went out and backed the mower out of the shed to investigate raising the mower deck. I solved that mystery and put the mower back then I modified Matts new section of his home so maybe he won't escape again. I used 2 different saws to make the mods and by the time I was done, I was done being outside! I dropped a pitcher of ice into Matts pool and went inside.

We got hellacious thunderstorms that dropped the temps to 66F now thankfully.

I had to go to the dentist this morning and the girl there asks "do you have an ebike?"
Yes I do, why?

"I live in the Harbor and I saw you yesterday."

She lives on the Cat street! I didn't get the idea that she was a fan of the little furries though. I forgot....in a small town, everyone knows everyone.

It finally cooled down around here too. It's been so hot and humid and very wet. We even had flooding so bad people had to be evacuated out of apartment buildings on the east end. There was also a city wide art festival going on that had to cancel all their big concerts at the college. People are donating their refunds back to the festival so they can have a good one next year. Even our humane society had to be evacuated. They're taking contributions to get it back up and running. I've never seen flooding that bad here. For once the flooding wasn't in our backyard though. It's usually one of the first places to get high water. It's been crazy.

This morning we left Macon Georgia on our way home to Florida. The A/C blower motor decided to quit. The temp on the dashboard said 101°. Called repair shops and of course none could fix today. We stopped in Lake City Florida for the evening. I decided I would replace the blower motor myself at the hotel. No auto parts stores in the area. Had a motor in stock. So that means 3 1/2 hrs of driving tomorrow with no A/C. I will hopefully fix it Sunday at home.

Oh, my... 3 1/2 hrs without AC won't be fun. Be safe and hydrated!

So here's a weird thing. I was just watching Modern Marvels about DNA. The story revolved around a case in Baltimore in 1980 where a girl was assulted and killed by a drunk man. The WRONG guy was locked up for 12 years. He looked exactly like my best friend I buried last summer....and he would have been the correct age at the time and could have been the "wrong" guys brother! This is causing questions b/c when my buddy drank, he hit women. Very disconcerting for me.

Ray, im sorry it all turned to sh*t but I love your attitude of acceptance instead of anger. You are just liable to arrive home still married! Lol good luck today!

It's 57F out now....Aug 2nd!

They can trace down "the guy that done the deed" by evaluating familial DNA samples and get a high percentage of assurance... basically get it down to the two brothers of a family and then use other methods to narrow it further. There have been quite a lot of "cold cases" that have been solved in the last twelve or fifteen years by doing reverse DNA analysis using the DNA volunteered by cousins or other family members that joined some of the things like "23 and Me" or "AncestryDNA", or military or criminal data bases.

When the TV show was talking about proving the "wrong guy" was the wrong guy, did they say they found the "right guy"? That would be about the only way to know for sure if your buddy was or wasn't in the running for the position. We all have visual dopplegangers/twins. Its as possible it wasn't him as it is that it was, so send in that old bandana (that he wrapped around the owie he got when you guys were working on bikes) to the cop shop the show credited the discovery to.

Or not. Sometimes its best to let sleeping dogs lie.
