Yeah this is a horse field aka a Russian tortoise, looking at the pyramiding I’d say definitely captive bred, doesn’t look like he’s had the best start bless him

I think it's much more serious than pyramiding, likely result of poor diet. And though its hard to tell from a single picture, looks to be on the thin side.

Yeah he’s definitely in rough shape
He does look underweight, far too dry, and in need of some TLC.
Try soaking your tortoise for about a half hour to an hour, every day for a few weeks, in a steep-sided container that your tortoise can't climb out of, in warm water that is only as deep as where the top and bottom shells come together. Russians are notorious for not just sitting in the water, so don't worry if he scrambles around the whole time. Because the water is so shallow, keep an eye on it and re-warm it up every few minutes.

Definitely a wild caught Russian. You can tell by the initial growth, then the rapid growth brought on by a high protein diet. I’ve seen dozens like this over the years.
That said, it appears to be a T h kazachstanica, but you would need a DNA test to be sure. No way to be sure due to the growth.
