(I posted this in Pretend Chat 2.14 too, in case you have alreayd seen this somewhere else) So I have three adult slider turtles in an 150 gallon tank (I know that's samll, and I'm hoping to snag this 180 I saw on Craigslist for an amazing deal) and I can find out what I can use for basking!! I tried rocks, but you know, turtles poop.. a lot... and it got 'stuck' and settled on the layers of rocks, making everything way dirtier (including glass) than I ever want to have to deal with again. Also, they were grinding down my turtles nails too much, like almost stubs. So, since I just cleaned them, took the rocks out, I need something else!! I can;t use the 'turtle docks' because they are too small/don;t support the weight of three 8'' turtles!

That same guy on YouTube has a sand substrate video, he keeps on explaining how a large sized tank + a good filter + lots of plants make him to clean the sand substrate. Maybe you need a larger tank &/or basking area?

Well, I've decided to buy the 180 gallon, and I ordered a ramp special for large turtles 10''+ (which is why it cost more) and got overnight so they should be here tomorrow! I actually have rocks, and all my turtles and tortoises see to be against live plants, so they just are rocking out the fake ones :D Thanks :p

Real plants are awesome, they filter the water, add O2 & basically are the centerpiece of most aquariums!

Just add any "pet store" plants, they are really cheap, if they won't eat greens they won't eat plants?

Well, that SHOULD be how it works :p but somehow they miss the point of decorative plants :( I've been looking at this plant called an Argentine Sword, and it's supposed be okay for them, but everyone says they don't like it :p They sell them at pet stores, so I was thinking pf buying a few for everyone.

Buy as many different types of plants you can from there, your turtles might not want to try some... Good luck!
