Is anyone in Michigan looking for a female sulcata? She is approx 7 years old, and I was told by a rep for the Detroit Zoo that it is rare to have a female..

I don't think it is rare to have a female. I've never heard of that and we have had ours
For 17 years. Wish I lived closer. I would love to have another female but I am in texas

I could take care of the tortoise I love my sulcata. It'd be nice if he had a friend. I also live in Michigan.

My tortoise only has one nostril... But at least he's different! ^_^

Tortoises for the most part are solitary creatures with few exceptions. The second tortoise won't be a 'friend', he will be competition for the best sleeping spot, food water and your attention. Females are hard to find. I have had several Sulcata, most too young for sex, the others are male.

I am looking for a female for my male. He is 120lb and I think the female needs to be around 50lb...how big is she?

I live in eastern NC and have a sulcata now that I rescued. I have plenty land in the country for them to roam. If you can't find her a home & are willing to ship I'd love to have her.

I may be able to take her. I live in Cleveland, Ohio and keep a large male sulcata. Is it still available?

This is a pretty old thread, Ron. The OP hasn't been back on the Forum since May, when she first posted the thread.
