“Japanese clover” safe to eat?

Is this plant safe to eat? Have a ton of it in my backyard, but can’t seem to find it on the tortoise table. Other names are common lespedeza, Japanese bush clover, striate lespedeza.IMG_2406.jpegIMG_2407.jpeg

It belongs to the legume family, so it is quite high in protein. They also contain phytic acid, which is a storage form of phosporus.

So you can feed them sparingly, just keep the Ca : P ratio in mind. What tortoise are we talking about?
