This is in Bonita Springs Florida. This is a legal supervised relocation project with all the permits in place yet it really upsets me. We know nature can not recover all the losses like the good intentions which the powers that be are hoping.

Yes it is better than many tortoises get but I am wondering who and what anyone can do to follow up on their progress. I am not a tortoise expert but is there anyone who can assist in their progress? Or advise me what to do?::

Most of the desert tortoise relocation programs have a low success rate.

Welcome. there was a thread on here about a group that relocates these guys and paces them. i forget the organizations name but they would be a good source to contact. Try a google search for gopher tortoise sanctuaries. I know of a few in new smyrna beach that are dedicated to protecting these guys and keeping tract of them.

Well, I am going to write to the TV news article and ask who is in charge of the follow-up.
