A few more years and they'll be mature.

Those are lovely tortoises. What kind of personality do they have? Are they outgoing like Russians?

For racing of course! Those are their studbook numbers. All of my turtles are assigned numbers so I can keep track of them.

It's been awhile since I've had any russian tortoises about but yes they are generally outgoing and scrappy!

Nice looking tortoises. I wish you great success with your breeding program! I've always liked these, but don't have much experience with them. I'm glad to know you are out there working with them, so eventually more people will get to have and know them.

I wS going to ask how that specimen was doing. What sex did it end up? Last time I remember talking about this one was 3 years ago or so. Grown lot. Same tortoise in your avatar. Man gotten big.

Wow. I noticed in the original picture, haha, but I figured my eyes must have been deceiving me! Do you still plan to reproduce him in the future? I feel like I wouldn't want to due to the risk of it happening again...

Stevie is a female, I thought male for awhile but I've changed my mind.

No plans for breeding. I don't believe it is a genitic issue though.

She does well finding food and water on her own. This has been her first summer outdoors and she's having a great time.

She turns eight this Dec.

Ken just hatched a sulcata with no eyes . Thats cool to know they can live with no problem with no eyes . It's amazing how these animals can survive .
