yea i was thinking the same thing about the constant temps , the home he has now has a top on it also and with the lights off at night the spot he loves to sleep in only drops down to 68 and thats across the whole habitat , then the spot he sleeps at in the day is 93 (which you know they sleep almost all day lol ) and it warms up pretty fast ... ill up load what he is in now ... not really a good picture but its a 4 foot by 2 foot with a 18 inchs to the light??Len?? said:I like it, new design and it looks like it will be easier to maintain constant temps with the solid top. Nice job.

??Len?? said:His old home looks nice also, I like the artwork,is that you waiting for slowpoke to get in the wagon ? are you going to paint the inside of the new one with art work like the old one ?
??Len?? said:I don't keep russian tortoises, so I am not sure of what they can eat,,,wandering jew would be my first choice, but to grow well needs good lighting, pothos is a good low light growing vine that is on every ones toxic plant list but I grow it and feed it to my forest dwelling tortoises on a regular bases with no ill effects, but again I don't know if it can be eaten safely by russians .Maybe someone who keeps russian tortoises will see this and chime in.
Lulu said:Squash grows kind of viney and he'd probably eat the leaves and flowers before you got any fruit out of it. It grows really fast too. You could grow your own seedlings in those little biodegradable pots and then plant those in the enclosure when they're big enough to have some chance at survival.
