One thing that we do here at our ecology preserve is we use a non toxic super glue to close a crack like that in the shell, does not affect their health or anything, just helps seal the wound so it can heal nicely and it falls off with the new growth.

This last post makes me wonder if this wasn't someone's unwanted pet that was tossed out of a car window. (because wild turtles usually don't recognise manufactured diet as food.)
Ohh gosh I don't understand how people would even have that thought process come to their mind, but it does. I've notice on here how people find leopards, red foots, sulcatas, etc., roaming on the sides of the road. That's soooo sad :(. There really is a better way than doing it that way people!!:eek:

I still remember something horrible, my mother told me - one of her friends were driving on the free way and the car in front of them all of a sudden threw a cat out the window and of course the friend ended up hitting it, she then called my mom up and was crying while driving.

There are some very cruel people in the world. :(

She really has settled fantastic. Her personality is second to none. I was moving some bricks and ran across a SNAKE of a worm and was able to enjoy watching her destroy it. It was a meaty treat .
I've got my fingers crossed that the future hibernation goes well and that she lives a long happy life :)
