I know most of you keep your torts inside and it really isn't an issue but I was wondering if any of the big Sulcata owner or anyone else has any experience with Micro-chipping.

i haven't had a tort microchipped yet but i have had it done to cats and dogs. i think it's a good idea...thought i don't know how different it is for torts and what effects it might have on them...

I am pretty sure it can be done but for some reason I don't think it can last as long as the torts do. I think I am also more worried about any problems that they might cause like tumors or something.

Also it needs to go under the skin, in dogs and cats they pretty much go universally between the shoulder blades. In horses they go in the neck(loads of surface area to scan if they put it willy nilly) I would want to know where it should go in torts, so someone would know where to scan for it. I believe lots of the marine torts are chipped, maybe you can find out from one of their sites.
