Good evening everyone!

Just a quick update on my sight test but first I'm pleased that Angie will have other eye done on Thursday. Good luck Angie and we shall be thinking of you. Anyway I had my sight test this morning and the optician said that my left eye hadn't changed but that my right eye had gone down two steps. She must have thought I seemed alarmed because after a few questions she said that my right eye was catching up with my left eye which made me feel more relieved.

I think the reason for me seeming alarmed is "two steps down" reminds me of dad's dementia taking a step down. Anyway I then chose some new frames and another member of the Specsavers staff spoke to me about my new glasses, sunglasses and prescription. She seemed older than the optician and I think more experienced at making people more relaxed. She described my left eye prescription as not changing but being worse than my right eye to which we agreed has always been like that and then I joked about my right eye wanting to catch up with my left eye. Several years ago there was no change in my sight and one year it was actually better!

My other news is that we had rain mid-morning and that one of my pupils gave me a tin of roses chocolates because she is taking a break from Piano lessons for her 11+. I have some news about Mr Jersey Tiger Moth, Mrs Comma Butterfly, Mr Holly Blue and Jacky which I shall post later.

This is the time when we start accumulating glasses!
I took 4 pairs to the opticians today in case I needed a prescription change which would work out very expensive. Thankfully I didn’t as there was only small changes to my right eye sight which didn’t need a change of lenses
What do you do with your old pairs? As I need some for driving & some for close work I tend to keep my old ones as spares as I like to keep a pair in my handbag then the other pair next to the settee! Another cheap supermarket pair are in the kitchen for when i need to read labels or recipes. If these drop on the floor & get damaged it’s not such a problem as they were less than £10 & funnily enough, the ones I like wearing the most as they are comfortable. Any spare spares are left at the opticians to donate.
I do have dry eyes which I’ve now got some drops for.
Goodluck to Angie for Thursday 🤞

I really didn't expect to get an appointment for my other eye so quickly, and it isn't particularly convenient timing, but I certainly couldn't turn it down ! Luckily, I hadn't gone back to wearing contact lenses in that eye just in case ! Obviously I hope not to need them ever again in either eye, just reading glasses. I've been wearing contact lenses for many years, so it seems a bit strange not having them ever again - I keep thinking I need to put them in! I once had some green ones, as I always liked the idea of green eyes, but they were too expensive to replace when my eyes changed, really.

I thought I would tell everyone about my sight test my eyes are very sensitive with hay-fever at the moment which also affects my stress levels. Right eye two steps down towards my left eye according to the optician.

Good evening everyone my name is Jersey Tiger Moth!

Natrah has been very worried about me because I haven't been around this summer until today. She thought that my home had been wrecked IMG20260630154106.jpgby rail workers clearing the fence behind the flat. Anyway she noticed a Comma Butterfly and a Holly Blue Butterfly but no tiger moths. However she didn't realise that I flew into the bathroom when she put Jacky out and whilst Jacky likes the bathroom scales and mop I decided to settle on the wicker basket before she put me out as well (see below).

Goodnight everyone

Good evening everyone!

It's been a lovely day here eventhough we have been told to expect 30 degrees Celsius early next week. I just want to say that I hope Angie's okay after her second operation and also @Chefdenoel10 as I haven't seen her for a long time. My other pupils have their exams on Wednesday and one pupil is looking forward to coming out of school. I hope you're not too hot in Finland Edward.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

Dear Natrah -it has been quite a strange time, but the worst is over ! We were told to arrive by 7.30, which we did, after a fairly sleepless night, and a fairly frantic rush - only to discover that I would be the last on the operating list, at about 12ish ! So Richard went off with Zola, and I sat around just waiting. Anyway, the op went ok - painful, and generally what you would expect ! When Richard came back,he was given various drops and so on, to start today - he has a steadier hand than me, so he does the dropping into my eye at the precribed intervals for several days. Zola met all the staff on the ward, which was nice - the patients too - one of whom thought he was a squirrel ! When I left, my eye started watering intensely, and it went on all night, so I ended up with piles of soggy tissues by my bed and all over the place. However, that has stopped now, and I feel a lot better, but it has been very painful.
I realise I shall have to get some reading glasses, as now I can't see to read the paper or a book, for instance - my computer has a big screen, and large black print, so I have no problem writing this ! It will be worthwhile, I know, but the process has left me exhausted, and I am very very tired ! Also, my watch, which I wear day and night, has stopped, so I feel even more confused !
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I sliced my finger this morning while cutting up Zola's radicchio ! He is out with his dad on the breakwater now, but I hope they will be back soon, bringing my watch back with its new battery in, and information about reading glasses too !
Love to everyone from Angie xxxxxxxxxx
