Back toe nails

Do you trim the back toe nails on a leopard Tortoises
The one I have has really long nails.

If its a female, no. Their back nails grow very long and they use them to dig their nests. This is normal and you should leave them alone.

A picture would give us a better idea of what we are talking about.

Are you supposed to trim any tortoise nails? Is that part of regular maintenance?

Usually no, but there have been a few cases of overgrown nails here and there. I've never needed to trim any of mine.
