Do red foots or any other tort for that matter actually bond to there families?

I guess I needed some coffee this morning! I think that my re foot has bonded to me. But she may just be trained to come and get food once she hears my voice!

Set a tortoise free on an unfenced property and you will see that they are not bonded to anything. They walk away without taking notice of you.

Chances are that you will bond with your tort before it ever bonds to you. Doubtful that tortoises will ever become domesticated in that sense.

Kamp Kenan's tortoises always walk up to him when he goes into their enclosures. But they're more likely just looking to see if he has food lol
