Hi all
@tortadise

Well I've just been and checked on my eggs and there was an awful smell of rotten egg.
One of the hingeback eggs had a big crack underneath it with egg white coming out of it. Is this known as albumen.
I have never moved this egg until now.
What are the reasons for this to happen, am I doing something wrong or is it just one of those things?
If it is because it was infertile does this mean the other egg will also be infertile?
Can you get fertile and infertile eggs from the same clutch?
Loaded a couple of photos.

Yes, you can have both fertile and non fertile eggs in the same clutch.

Just got back off holiday to find another broken egg. :mad: at 110 days
Does this one look as though it was ever fertile.

I have had a mixture of good and bad eggs, even some that looked like they were progressing well and then went bad. Once they crack and ooze, and certainly once they smell, youneed to get it out of the incubator. The good news is once they start laying eggs, they will probably continue so be ready.

Thanks. This female laid 2 batches of 2 eggs. 1 egg out of each batch has cracked now. I'm guessing the other 2 are not going to fertile too. :(

My last batch of incubated Redfoot eggs exploded one after another over about two weeks. I'll never forget the smell.
This egg didn't have much smell, wierd. I noticed the wall of the shell seemed to be very thick.
