Cactus question

I have one question!
Can my hatchling tortoises eat the spikes ok the spineless prickly pear or do I have to take time out of my life to pick every prickle out!(this is suppose to be funny not serious) I is wanted to know if they could eat or no

I personally remove them even for my adults. You can burn them off or take the back side of a knife and scrape them off. I don't want to risk an infection or something so I remove them
