I don't use either, but I have used the zoomed one a couple of times and it was fine. I'm sure either one would work just fine.

I like Rep-cal. The consistency is the best and it really adheres to the food well.

Ironically, I've started to pull away from powders...since they get all the calcium they need from cactus and cuttlebone. But, Zoo Med was always my ONLY choice!

Thanks! Sherman, Cricket, Echo, and Euclid all have cuttlebones and get cactus, so I do not normally supplement them with calcium, but this would be for my new Sulcata who has MBD. I have been scraping cuttlebone with a knife for his calcium, but thought a powder would be better/easier. He also has a full cuttlebone, but has not even touched it.

If you want another cheaper, and probably more pure option, go to a health food store and get calcium or calcium carbonate powder. I paid a fraction per ounce for mine over what the pet suppliers ask, and it is designed for human use, so is very pure.

Don't bother with the fancy stuff like that from coral or other forms of calcium, though, just pure calcium carbonate.

I get Now calcium from the human supplement store. Much cheaper, and I actually trust the quality more than reptile stuff. If you get a reptile brand, I don't know that one is any better than the other--just get what is cheaper or more convenient. I put it in a pizza shaker (from Kohl's, like for parmesan and pepper flakes) because the holes are bigger than a salt shaker. That Fluker's one you linked to has D3. I would only use pure calcium if a tort gets sun/UVB.

in my opinion i prefer rep-cal calcium dust. i only use that during winter, as my tortoises arent outside. a calcium supplement is vital for tortoises. rep cal with d3 is what i use

Thats a great idea about the pizza shaker. I was actually wondering about the D3 in my rep-cal. I thought they didn't need the D3 if they got NATURAL sunlight not UVB. I need someone to clarify that. I looked up different ones when I first got my Sulcata and rep-cal seemed like the best from what I researched. Heres their research website http://www.repcal.com/ I also got a question about the multivitamin they have also. Im about to post a thread about it so maybe you all can help me with that also. :p
