Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. I am interested in getting Central American wood turtles in the future. Far future I should add. So I wanted to see if anyone can give me information on how to set up there enclosure and what I may need?

It would an indoor enclosure for most of the time. Until my wife and I get a house. We have a two bed two bath apartment with a decent amount of room.

If people could send pictures of their enclosures and maybe some links I could look at it would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone knows a good YouTuber to watch about the species I am very interested as well. Thank you!

I have no info on them. I don't know who has them either
However, you could check out GardenStateortoise. com. He has some turtles but I don't know what kind.

No direct experience but they are tropical and semi-aquatic. Need a large-ish enclosure with consistently warm temperatures (think 80's F), high humidity, and both land / shallow water. Somewhat of a terrarium-style setup.

they are long lived, more than 30yrs...... they eat worms, bugs, softened turtle or fish pellets, dog food, grape leaves, mulberry leaves, plantain, dandelion, romaine, any kind of plant/vegetable or fruit...... they seem to do best on mostly leaves and weeds with a lesser amount of fruit and animal protien.....

they are extremely weak swimmers, they can and do drown, they are mainly terrestrial...... i keep them outside in northeast ohio from late may to october/november, with a heated box and a heat lamp above their water pan (a hot water tank pan)...... in the house they have a room , the only heat is a heated box ( a radiant heat panel) and a heat lamp (250 w red brooder bulb) above their water pan....... they do have access to an indoor pond they seldom use........

my outside enclosure for 6 is something like 8'x 4' , indoors is a room maybe 12'X12' , the pond takes up half the room and they don't use it ..... how much do they need , as much as you can give them.......
the natural range of this type i believe is southern nicaragua and northern costa rica.....

this is a natural habitat, these people are actually looking for R.P. manni......
