I had this great plan for Ronan's enclosure, but then I started looking at the closed chamber thing, which seems like a better way to go. But, it raises a question for me -- I've heard it said so often that tortoises should never be kept in aquariums because they tend to nose rub and butt the glass and get their beaks injured if they're kept in transparent enclosures. But I hate the idea of Ronan being in an enclosure where we can't interact in passing. so I'm wondering how to build a closed chamber that still allows him to get my attention when he wants something, but won't encourage him to injure himself on the transparent wall.

I have two closed chambers (for babies only)
Both are large, short sided glass aquarium type chambers with plexiglass lids on hinges and florescent lights mounted inside of the lid.
I have holes in the plexiglass so that the lights don't overheat.
