Hope you're neighbours are okay Lyn!

Natrah
The rain is keeping them indoors so it's quieter which is a bonus.
The man is obsessed with stopping people parking on the street outside his house by constantly moving their 3 cars around, and spreading them out to save the space. It's ok for them to park outside other people's houses through - very selfish behaviour.
Sorry to hear your noisy neighbours are still there. I thought you'd seen the last of them.

We had guests today from China! Annie, a former exchange student that stayed with Kerry for school years '14 till she graduated in '16 then socially vanished when she returned to China in '17. We know the social credit system used over there (having a foreign friend is bad, worse if they are Americans) so we just assumed that was why she went dark. Last week she reached out so her and her fiancee came over today for lunch and a walk around our neighborhood.

Good times!

Meeting the guy was neat. A double Masters @31 years old from an oppressive State he had a unique view of the world i rarely see. We talked about tarrifs of course which are highly concerning to educated Chinese folks these days. They really seem to lack the concept of " level playing field". We also talked about renewable power generation..solar and wind and the cost of packaged solar systems for homes. He was a little confused that i have no interest in either until I told him our PER KW cost here. He was astonished that our electricity cost here in our Co-op is cheaper than electricity coming out of 3 Gorges dam in China! He also noted that in China they give solar power away to locals when they build a solar farm but here in the US, it only means you will be paying much more than your neighbors...but at least you can be GREEN as you are forced to eat cat food! LOL

The truth is....regardless of politics, we are all human beings who love and feel the same things. Very cool but he has his hands full with Annie and still has no idea. I think she is his "first". She is a high maintenance girl.....i shudder to think!

We might take the kayaks today....sweet!

Good Morning friends . . gonna be warm today. was 99° (37C) out yesterday, supposed to be 103°(39°C) today. Fortunately this has been a cool summer, very pleasant. I live in the bay, close to the golden Gate, so we in the East bay get moderate temps, as opposed to the folks over the hill that will get an extra 10 (6°C)
Got fans going and will close the house up, just before I leave for church. Ah, summer is here! Enjoy the day (Labor Day weekend in the US)

It has been very gloomy out here today, with something in between a light drizzle and fog. Some leaves are already turning colors and falling. I also noticed that some dandelions (Edward's favourite food) are already looking very wilted. I have spent the past few weeks trying to keep Edward up and to prevent or at least postpone brumation. He is still eating daily, but sleeping a lot.

Wow 99F near the bridge MG? That's hot for the bay area isn't it? I took my daughter there in 2012 for 2 weeks when she was 13. We did the pier, Redwood Park south of the city and I bought scalped tickets to The Rock....neat place. The museum at the GG bridge was cool too. Who knew?

FT reminded me....i heard the 1st goose of the season today and yes a lot of the plants are retreating. We saw it on the waters edge too today when we took the little kayaks out. We saw 3 total turtles...all Red Ears in the brackish water. No sign of the Terripen I let go here a few weeks back. Here's 1 of the red ears

Changed the oil in the car, topped up WW fluid and that's about it...it checks it's own tire pressures. It's ready for a ROAD TRIP! Tomorrow we pack!

My first house had black walnut trees on the property. I decided to husk a bunch of them when the nuts fell to the ground. I husked them without gloves on. My hands were stained for over a week. I was told to throw them on my dirt driveway and run them over with the car.
Yes it's easier to buy a bag from a health food store by the time you get done 😉 and here in Ohio the farm stores sell them.😊

Last Wednesday I noticed a straggling hummingbird wanting a feeder playing around the crepe myrtle. So even though I haven't been getting hummers I put up a feeder especially since I saw him again on Thursday. I thought I might be too late but no. He showed up on Friday. He'll need help for his trip south. So tomorrow I'll clean and change it and make more nectar.😊

I do feel better. My lungs feel even better than I was doing before I came down with shingles. I think the anti virals have cleared up some old viral problems too. I'm still irritated by the skin issues and my ear but I'm on my way up. Yeah 👍 👍 👍
