I've had trouble all day too. Maybe there was site maintenance happening?

Just checked site announcements and Josh hasn't mentioned anything.
Whatever it was semns to have been resolved now.
Seems there was an issue with spammers so Josh turned off TFO - see Site Help and Feedback threads

It's quite easy to see why so many authors came here to write. There is a magical tranquility here.
Lovely to see this side of the states❤️

Hey Ray...since my texts aren't going through....are you feeling better?
Right before I logged in to TFO. I was curled up in a ball. Trying to deal with this pain. I have turned into a punk. I have been in bar fights worse than my leg situation. And never missed a day of work.
I haven't received any text from you.

I went to my orthopedic doctor for injections in my knee. My sugar was up, so he didn't want to give me a steroid. In the near future I will get injections that put a cushion between the joints. Have to wait for health insurance ok. He looked at the x-ray that the hospital took of my leg. From the hammer incident and decided to order more. Since the hospital only took a front view x-ray. It hurts like hell to step on it. So between the leg pain, knee pain and all my other pains including phantom pains. I am a hot mess. When pain meds no longer work. I keep telling myself this to shall pass. Plus I have quit chewing tobacco for 2 weeks. Think I might start up again until I get this pain under control. Thank goodness Rose has been taking care of the tortoises. I get out to see them in the evening. When the temperature outside lowers.
Ok thanks for listening. You know what they say. A problem shared is a problem half solved.
Poor Opo is so aggravated because he can't get to Ms.Sully. So I fed him some strawberries.

Man, you've been taking it on the chin these days bud. I can't imagine how bad it is but we'll say a few prayers that the pain passes.

Opo, listen carefully....i left a space behind the shed where you can get to your girl. I didn't tell Ray so keep it on the D/L.
Oh thankyou Jeff!

Dad's been through such a lot lately that we would love to give him a few more surprises.

Opo and Ms Sully ❤️❤️🐢🐢

So sorry you're in so much pain Ray. I hope the docs can sort you out asap.

Poor Opo, I hope the strawberries take his mind off Mrs Sully but I suspect they are a poor substitute.😏

This is "turtle rock" here at the home known as "Bonnycliff". See it however you choose.

Wanna see something cool? The woman we are staying makes rugs, by hand. I will post a video after we get home. These are 89 year old hands making a woolen rug.

What a neat old lady!
Did you see any turtles near that rock Jeff? I'm hoping to see the lunar eclipse tomorrow.

No N, no actual turtles but I did climb it, setup the triangle rock and snap a pic!

Then Elaine, the old lady who used to be Kerry's 9th grade teacher and owns this place took us to a boatyard where she volunteers. All hand made wooden dingys they build and sell to the watermen
. 7 thru 12 feet long. It was pretty neat. You have to remember that Elaine is 89 years old. She did a coast to coast bicycle ride at 67 years old...my age! To describe her as an overachiever would be a compliment to overachievers! LOL They all call her "mom". I probably will too!20250906_115542.jpg20250906_114105.jpg

See this stone wall? Unlike every single stone wall I have ever encountered, this one doesn't make my spidy senses tingle...know why? No poisonous snakes in Maine! NONE! Yay jeff!
I realize that most folks won't see the freedom...but im allergic to antivenin so I pay attention to the little things.20250906_121357.jpg

Internet is sporadic here...i wasn't done. LOL
I drove 10 miles to text my brother on his birthday yesterday and we heard back from him today. He is in Yellowstone and is headed for the Grand Tetons tomorrow! Very cool trip...good for him and his wife.
We leave here tomorrow to head North and we are seeing that we should have brought our passports. Tomorrow we'll go to Balance Rock Inn in Bar Harbor for a couple days. It sits in the center of Acadia park so we can get anywhere. After that we might to to the Canadian border at Bay of Fundy. The tidal changes there are said to be more/higher than anywhere else on the planet so that would be neat to see. Having our passports would give us more freedom up there but it will be fun hanging out on the American side too i think. I have to go research it.
