Though the price is fair, when I went to checkout and pay. The shipping was over 40bucks. Oh well it's for Ms.Sully and Opo
I've seen that too with things I order on line. There's at least one company I like that are out of the country. I'm going to keep ordering anyway. It's the tariffs.

I've heard about all the snow in the states. Are you all okay?

Natrah
I am. We had a green Christmas. No snow but we're about to get some for the New Year. I'll be spending it at home on my couch and watching all the festivities on TV. Thanks to Verizon. I only called them yesterday about my Internet. They immediately shipped me a new gateway. It arrived today and is up and running yea!!😊

You guys are correct, it was "defrost the freezer day"! I figured since God cooled like the whole State for us to make it easy, I really should.
Is that like watching the grass grow, or the paint dry?

I should do that too when I get home. Unfortunately I have one of those units with a freezer on the bottom and a fridge on the top, which means I will have to empty both.

Ouch!
It wasn't all that bad. Once I rapped the ice loose i used a dustpan to get it out w/o waiting for the freezer to warm up. Wiped everything off and turned it back on for 3 hours before refilling it. It's happy now! I did the easy one, Kerry gets to do the fridge/ freezer in the kitchen. Too many weird angles to bend into to reach everywhere...ill let her do that one. LOL.

Tomorrow it's supposed to get close to 60F for a few hours before dropping to the 20's in the afternoon. We are going to bring Kerry's car out and give the inside a TeamUs special. It need cleaning....you girls are so messy! I have a car and a truck each with 6.5 times the 30k miles as Kerry's car.....and each is 6.5 times cleaner than hers! 😅😅
What's with you guys?

As for Christmas foods, we had Christmas ham (cured ham, that had been baked), swede casserole, sweetened potato casserole, carrot casserole, graved and cold smoked salmon, oven baked salmon, herring, roe, rosolli salad, and Karelian stew. A very traditional assortment of Finnish and Scandinavian Christmas foods. Some home cooked, some ready made from the store (mainly the casseroles and herring).

So, I have to ask . . . . did you also have lutefish? This is supposed to be a Norwegian Christmas dish, If I remember correctly.
I have had it once. One of my old GF's was (Swedish?) and she took me to a Group dinner that was put on by the (Norwegian?) society. I DID consume A piece . . . which got me points with her and her parents, and was enough for my lifetime.

Our cars are super sized versions of our handbags/purses - full of everything and you never know what's lurking at the bottom 😏

No, but my grandpa likes it 😁 You can buy it in stores around Christmas, since people rarely make it themselves as it is a multi day process. There is a saying here about the Christmas food, that you can eat it once a year. Many of the foods are from a time when food was sparse during the winter.

I've finished my fair share of Xmas cooking for my nephew today. He's done very well out of me.
We've had the Xmas day turkey lunch with a wide variety of veg, then Boxing Day he we had more turkey and roast ham with chips/fries etc., he also took a chunk of turkey home with him for sandwiches. Finally today we had another roast lunch with chicken to use up the veg I didn't cook. So that's it for me. I'm hanging up my chefs hat and apron until next year.

I don't mind having him here over Xmas and certainly wouldn't let him spend it alone, but it does annoy me that he doesn't say thank you and doesn't even give me a Christmas card, yet he brings a bag down in anticipation of the gifts he will get. I'm always telling him to say thank you to other people when they do something nice for him, but he doesn't seem to think that includes me. It would just be nice to feel appreciated.

I've invited him here for NY's Eve but he says he wants to stay in his flat, so maybe I'll go partying - if I've recovered from my cooking marathon! 😄

I hope everyone is having a good weekend, counting down to the New Year. - it really doesn't feel like a year since the last one!

Part of growing up is looking outside of one's self. He will get there. These things take time sometimes. You in his ear reminding him to be human and thank folks for their efforts can't hurt.

It's 64°f here in the backyard and 67 in the front yard. The humidity is being weird for the winter. It's 77-65% outside. In here it's a perfect 42%.. Even in Sapphire's room. I'm not running a humidifier like I usually have too so I'm blessed.😉 and saving some cents on distilled water.😊 the humidity can be 100% outside and indoors can be 2 here if it's cold. I've actually seen a robin lately. Even after the freezing weather we had. I'll have to watch over him if I can.

That warm weather is sliding by here tomorrow morning Ms Cathie. We will be taking advantage before temps plunge in the afternoon! Yikes

Today was a lazy day....laundry, put away the coolers, posted some cool deer videos(https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzT5xGfyDU9MiLA4jao91QA) , did a little lawn leveling near the porch to receive the hot tub I finally ordered. Yup, I finally did it after finding a way to get it tax(screw Md) & shipping free.
I'm trying to manage my expectations though as we already know that industry is one of the worst I've seen so it's taken 2 months to wrap my head around this. There's an adage in construction; "go to bed with hookers, wake up with a std" and it refers to doing business with a firm that you know is unethical. When you get screwed by them, you only have yourself to blame....so I'm owning it here and now if this goes south guys! LOL It's funny because I expressly forbade anyone working for me to take on those clients. We simply never worked for Scumballs and I never had too much trouble letting someone know they were one if they pressed us. I never got pushback from those who employed me either, they all knew it was non negotiable for me. Now that it's my risk.....well, we will see won't we? LOL

See, I have been down this road before....remember that bed we got this year for a small fortune that I hate? I know all about having to manage my expectations! LOL

I'm going out to the garage to burn 1 then go watch a little football....Chicago kicking SF's bum yet??

Dear Ray,

Anything for Ms Sully and Opo!

I hope they appreciate it.

Natrah
I have tried many different trays. None of them cheap considering it is made of plastic. The kidde pools are good but being in my condition. I can't lift them out, plus sooner or later. The sides crack or holes get poked in the bottom. I need to figure out a lift system. To put them in and out of a heavy-duty livestock tub.

He's 46 and 30 stone, Jeff so plenty grown up! 😄
So he is just an azzhole? LOL I'm teasing of course....everyone is different I suppose but like many here I am of the "please and thankyou" generations. Today maybe they are not so much?

In full disclosure I too have a 40 year old daughter who I am feeling shame for because she did not thank Kerry for the hand made hat she made nor the gifts to her children that were also sent over with my other kids because we were not invited to be with them on Christmas. See, we have them here too! Free will....it's a thing to be cherished until others exercise it and it doesn't agree with our wants. We try not to dwell in the bad place very long though or the sucking muck will envelop your feet and it gets harder to walk away from the dragons! That's a public service announcement, right?

Ray, what about a dedicated corner that you could have lowered a schmad so a 4" pan or shallow tub could be countersunk and a hose could be hung nearby so you could fill it? If it's far from the house, maybe in the back corner near the cactus plants so they will be cleaned off by the time they walk back to the house. Or do you need two setups?
