I like it Mark, clever!!

Erie just left....WHEW! LOL. My big question to Aaron from Erie was "what do we do with all the stuff while the work is being done"
(Imagine standing in a 600sf room with no more than 2sf visible at any place on the floor & there are two other affected rms like this)

His answer made me feel all warmy inside;

"Two things, first I am going to send you a contractor to go through every single item, here on-site to evaluate for damage because it's too big a job to ask the client to undertake. Also, you wouldn't see and would miss the damage we would, especially to the wooden furniture. Second, I'm going to authorize and send a separate contractor to set pods in your driveway and remove every single item to the pods, then replace it all when the Construction is complete. You can hire your own contractor or we can send one for the flooring and walls. Your check for $XXXXX will be mailed in 2 weeks, it does not include the costs for laminate and carpet. The restoration company has samples and will send out for valuation. I will also send you a copy of my estimate to use with your selected contractor"

I don't usually swear online.....but HELL YEAH! Aaron is my "hero of the day"

He used to work for Remodeling contractors...several jobs, mid-30's....been with Erie 8 months and he slammed it for me. Heck yeah I chat them up a bit. Keep my life simple, that's all I want.....I'll choose when and where to make it exciting, we have no shortage of those moments now do we!

Thanks Erie

You know, I've had a lot of "basement issues" over the past year...what with Erin's animals, the well and water stuff....it's prob a poltergeist of an old GF making my life hell. I don't even want to start on that list.....

Oh, here's the culprit cause enquiring minds want to know;

Come on, I've been a plumber who builds buildings for decades and works with other plumbers and NO ONE has ever seen this before. I'm certainly not a plastics-expert but imho, this has stress fracture all over it, like it was whacked like the guy on Ghosts can do! LOL

See, it could have been lots worse!
When I had a water tank burst through 2 ceilings below it many moons ago, my insurance company was great too. Some CDs had got splashed and even though the cds themselves were fine, the assessor said that because the card/paper inserts were water damaged - some of them only slightly - then he was making that part of my claim too. I thought they would try to save themselves as much money as possible, but they were throwing it at me. I was very grateful for their help.

It's bloomin' freezing here again!
Today I didn't have to wear a jacket it was so warm. Tomorrow it's dropping like a rock though 👎 and supposed to be in the 30's. It's like that through the weekend and then warming up again. It's been so windy and March like and it's still February. We're also getting April showers now and then already. Seems to me I'll be able to get Sapphire outside sooner than usual.

Good afternoon/evening all,
We've had plenty of sunshine the last couple of days but our temps are still way down and will be back down to about 29 - low 30s over the weekend, so we still need our thermals!
It was my nephew's birthday yesterday so I took him out for dinner to celebrate, and today I took him to his dentist to continue with his tooth extraction treatment. I think I know which he preferred ;):).
I hope you're all having a good Thursday - I can't believe another week has flown by already!
See you soon,

We have winds coming from the North Pole at the moment. It's not that strong but it certainly has a bite to it! We're a bit short of rain though and nothing in the forecast for a while. I hope we're not heading for another drought this year.
I'm not sure why but our shops are struggling with the out of season fresh veg supplies we have from abroad, and some have started rationing what shoppers can buy. It's very hard to get tomatoes at the moment. The UK needs to concentrate on growing more of its own and we need to go back to buying seasonal veg. We rely too much on imports of everything these days.:(

Most of the northern US is dealing with a blizzard and what you are dealing with too probably. It's really bad for them but I'm getting warmer than usual temps. I'm just right below them. You can't believe how close they are to me and yet I'm warm. Some of the cold will dip down tomorrow but 30's isn't all that bad in February for where I live. In fact it's pretty much unheard of.

Guy, Ahhhh FRIDAY........that word will sound special to me even after I retire! LOL

Yeah, some folks, a lot of folks are getting smashed by that huge coast-to-coast storm....but it's 61F at 4;30 this morning driving in & tomorrow we have a chance of snow......someone wake me when winters gotten itself straightened out, okay?

Woke up booming at midnight w/3rd migraine of the week, don't know what could be causing the stress....my kids love me, my girl loves me, Matilda loves me (nope, not going to mention the one here) heck even my ex loves me and I love them all back(even the one here), mostly, come on, the "ex" is iffy and day by day. <LOL>

Kerry is coming over this w/e and she is allergic to "rabbit" so in a stroke of anointed brilliance (cause there isn't any resident) I ordered the 37 buck PEACEMAKER!

Nope, not the Colt .45 version....the Jeffrey version....I'll show you'all;

An Exhaust fan for my daughters rabbit in her new room upstairs, the one I remodeled before my own. She bought a large dog crate then added a second level and a hide to it. She can't really leave it downstairs with all the activity....I was praying for God to send her out the open door to live in the woods while the restoration guys were working and had the basement slider open all day, but she hid in a corner....guess she isn't stupid.

This was just my contribution to peace.

Life sure is interesting.....not always FUN, but always interesting......

Enjoy the day guys.....

Wa-a-a-a-a-ay back in 1972 Burt Reynolds posed nude, on a bear skin rug, for Cosmopolitan magazine. I bought that issue, and lo, these many years, I've kept that picture. This morning as I was crumpling up papers for the wood stove to start a fire, some of which were old newspapers I took off the shelves in the linen closet (yesterday I cleaned out the linen closet), I found a bit of cut out paper and upon closer inspection, saw it was Burt's foot. I kept the darned picture for 51 years, only to crumple it up and put it in the wood stove this a.m. All I have left is Burt's naked foot and hairy leg!

But the house IS nice and warm from Burt's fire!!!

I hope the staples were sensitively placed 😁
(or at least not placed in a sensitive area)

There was a bit of joking at the time about the staples, but in actuality, they were around his chest area. The bit of picture I've shown here shows where the center was attached to the other side of the page, so the staples would have been further up towards his chest. His hand was draped casually over the "sensitive" area.

Goodmorning/afternoon all,
Cold and grey today.
I've been cutting back a lovely Helichrysum shrub that the freezing cold got to this year. It was lovely and quite unusual. I've not started on the Hebe yet, I'm leaving it a while in case any bees are hibernating in the leaf litter under it, so that will wait until its a bit warmer.
On the positive side I found a wild buddleia shrub that has taken root in a corner so I can move that to fill one of the gaps and still feed the butterflies and bees.
I hope you all have a good Friday - gateway to the weekend!!

Cold and rainy today. . . and WINDY! I HATE the wind. Misty's "holding" it. She won't go out in the rain. I guess she thinks she'll melt. On the plus side, I get to try out my new rain gear bought from AMAZON a couple weeks ago. We had a terrible wind storm a couple days ago. Many, many downed trees shown on the news. Thankfully no wind damage here. It did bother one of my indoor cats, though. She kept jumping from the window to out the bedroom door and back to my lap, to the window and out the door. She kept that up for about 15 minutes before she finally settled down on my lap. Looks like I'll be doing indoor stuff today after I take care of the tortoises. Thank goodness it's not as cold here as it is in Maggie's neck-o-the-woods. 50 with wind is bad enough.

Y, most of us I think remember that "drama" when he posed.

It was a huge deal for those that weren't.....think of a sex symbol today posing nude....yeah, like that.

I was a young criminal by the Spring of '73...and soon you guys will figure out why I left home so early, with my parents blessing!

If you remember, there were also two other fads.....CB radios & yes, streaking......and I don't like radios! The very last thing my Father told me when my friends picked me up was "no streaking". God, I haven't thought of that in some time....4 of us....right through the Glen Burnie Mall..........into the gentle but leering eyes of several of our Counties finest who were only too happy to entertain us with threats of arrest, imprisonment, strip searches....(really, here we are!LOL) etc. Rick and I thought they were dragging it out to drool at our girlfriends but hey, the price we pay for freedom! My kids don't even know about that one, I don't think.

We were afraid to drive away...1 of the chicks had ditched a bowl under her car.......she drove real slowwwww,

Yeah, got windy here too as the temps plummet till tomorrow. It was 61F this morning I think, now it's 51F but I think it's only going down to the 20's tonight. We have been fortunate weather-wise around here.

Here's one for Y...sitting not 3 feet from me;

Keeping useless stuff....

Don't ask me...I dunno, I just keep it.

Here's a neat one that was next to it....my 71/72 yearbook & 8th grade Orchestra pic....I'm 1st Viola, right next to the Cello's. A year later I was hauling azz in my birthday suit....with friends! How DOES that happen? LOL

Recent project. I had a ton of extra cutoffs from all the recent birdhouse construction (over 50 houses built since late December). The cutoffs have been piling up & piling up. By luck, up popped a few YouTube videos on the making of “Wind Spinners”. Sooooo, a few more cuts & a piece of threaded rod & viola - our Wind Spinner.

Now I’m wondering if it’s the kind of thing that folks might purchase. I think I've just about saturated the local birdhouse market.

So I keep seeing this package sitting on the counter.
