Coming over the Bay yesterday late morning, that isn't fog or haze..... There are two ships out there, maybe a 1/2 mile.....find them?

LOL

Great pic Ms Cathie

Wow Ray, you don't normally sound this down, even when everything turns to crud.....I really hope that you both begin to feel better over the weekend.

I got a little more done for my new phone wallet today. I have a few more things to do before my cactus leather arrives. Good thing because I'm chomping at the bit IMG_20230701_165716635.jpg

Curious as to what you are making. I'm very confused...lol...but I've been sketchy for 2 days so my confusion is understandable.

UCame out early this morning at the Nook to see the wildlife. We have a mom and fawn but mom hides the baby so while Kerry has seen it but I haven't yet.

93 year old Dad is down for the weekend and we had friends come over yesterday. It was nice to see them but everything was twisting me. Even dad was on my nerves.

Jeff needs to calm the heck down.

Maybe I need a vacation??

JUST SAW MOM & FAWN! IN HERE:
Fleeting look as it ran right to left

You can just see mom here.

I am glad the wild fire smoke is not here in Florida. In the last 6 weeks I have been in the hospital twice for pneumonia. I am just existing now, not much of a life. My mother in law started having shingles. We all decided to get the shingles shot yesterday. Today we all have fevers and feel like crap.

Yikes Ray! Hang in there & good that you got your shingles vaccines. I got mine a few years ago and wifey got hers early this year. My dad got shingles a few years ago & it really compromised everything, weakened his entire body…..and lead to his passing of all kinds of complications.

Anyone else out there growing things?

Tomatoes are growing full steam ahead. We have a few misc peppers planted & already harvested a few banana & jalapeños.

Yesterday I discovered some watermelon plants coming up from seeds that were in pieces of watermelon that we fed our Sully. Must be hardy seeds. Going to transplant a few this afternoon.

It’s the beginning of July, a good 100 days of growing season left. Soooo, we ordered some zucchini & pumpkin seeds to get growing & ready before October frosts.

Some of these will be ready in less than 60 days - the Magda and Yellowfin in 48 days!

I was thinking I was too late to plant a few things but maybe not. We have had a late summer start and a drought so maybe the growing season will be here longer..a few plants wouldn't hurt the budget even if they fail.😊

Just check the “Days to Maturity” info on any veggies you might want to plant. It’s still relatively early in the prime growing season here. After a very early warm Spring, then cool for a long period coupled with drought, we are now back to more normal seasonal temps & rain. The next 10 days has lots of scattered rain & temps in the 90’s.

Some of the Autumnal pumpkins & squash will withstand a few nights of frost. I’m guessing as long as the daytime temps are above normal & sunny.

These seeds are from Johnny’s Seeds, a pretty reputable dealer.

Kale would do good here. Even if it snows which I doubt will be anytime soon. We'll see. I love steamed kale with butter salt and pepper.

My mother in law is very uncomfortable. I am not sure if the vaccine will help her with this episode.

I'll be thinking of her. When Joe finally showed me his sore I freaked out. I put a betadine gauze pad on it and took him to the doctor the next day. He should have had the shot sooner that the doctor gave him but something worked. I still think the betadine gauze pad helped too. He'd had the sore several days before he got the shot..

I hope you all feel better soon Ray. Probably just your bodies reacting to the jab but best to take it easy.

Shingles can be awful. I remember an aunt having a bad dose of it. I hope your mum in law recovers soon.
There's a big ad campaign here on tv warning older people who had chicken pox when they were children about the possibility of getting shingles now. Strangely, it's not telling us to get vaccinated - just warning how the virus can stay in your body for decades and then reappear without any advice how to avoid it.

Good morning/afternoon all,
We've had some cooler and showery weather the last few days but no where near the amount of rain we need. There's some very strong gusts of wind though. The tennis at Wimbledon starts today so that's bound to bring rain for the London area!;)

I've still not found my dream bungalow yet, some possibles, but they need too much work which my budget won't allow for, but I have another to view on Weds. so fingers crossed for that one.

Lola is well and the new growth lines between his scutes tells me he's growing. I think I'll have to cut another doorway in the side of his hide to make it easier for him to get in and out without doing a 36 point turn! I found him stood on his back legs against one of the walls the other day - he'd gone in then changed his mind and wanted to come out again so tried to turn in his door and got himself stuck. He usually manages OK if he goes further in, but maybe a side door would help him.

I hope you all have a good Monday - July already! Do any of you have 4th July celebrations planned?
