I see everyone is acting up in here, not too much going on other than normal mayhem & chaos By one and all.

We‘ve been busy staying out of the Summer heat. Gardening, picked a ton of tomatoes & peppers & butternut squash.

Finally some rain & a cold front has moved in. Some proper cool Autumnal weather. With overnight temps now forecast for low 40s for awhile we decided to lug our Sully monster inside for a long Winter nap. It’s much easier now that ive done this a few times. Night box all set up, lights on timers, overhead heat.

back to lurking about.
Great to see you back Mark!

When I was 5 years old, my family lived in Hawaii. My dad was in the marines. There were these seeds called Li Hing Mui seeds. They are a plum seed with some dried plum meat on it. They have a strong sweet and sour taste. I had given up looking for them online. I was spelling it wrong. Well my sister found them online. Ate some yesterday, boy did that bring back memories.

I was wondering Mark, did you find a second use for the big tub for the winter or did you store it?

Good for you Ray.....aren't those treats from being young REALLY special if you are lucky enough to re-live them? I have no idea what that stuff is, easy to see how you'd misspell it though.

I'm guessing that you gnaw on those? The plum pit is still inside, right?

Yes the pit is inside. Remove the meat with your teeth. Then the meat that doesn't come off. You just roll the seed around in your mouth. Sooner or later the seed will be clean. I think the seed is the original sour patch kids.😁

My son and I are finalizing plans to NY. We decided Thurs the 19th is a better trip. Less crowded and certainly less expensive. I've seen Liberty Island a thousand times but have never been on the island. Some of our relatives came though Ellis island too, not sure he realizes that yet. We elected not to get tickets to anything other than the Tower and museum for now. We don't know what curves will be tossed at us so it's safer to see what we have time to do.

Jacky will be 88 on the 19th October View attachment 362259

Cr*p, ....Jacky's butt looks better at 88 then I do @65. LOL

In the 70's, Jackie Zimmerman spun the Bass as her & the cello's played the "Blue Kangaroo" tune....in the middle of a concert, and we never bothered to let the Teacher/Director know. Twice, for good measure of course.
We had fun and we had aces for Music teachers back then. They all played locally, like you do. Congrats .....my respect for all teachers is bred into me, my special respect for music teachers, was taught to me, earned by them.

Ray, "someone" me thinks has never been in a watermelon seed spitting contest....like you, I thought it was obvious what you do with the pit....."see if I can hit something"....LOL

Get that extra reward if you hit the target, but sometimes she moves....

The big old red neck swimming pool is sadly resting for Winter. All cleaned out & upside down back in “the woods”. Filter & other assoc junk all put away in our basement.

I hate to see summer fade into fall too. Another year that's going much too fast 😔 before you know it 😊 it'll be time to drag it back out though hopefully 🤗 gotta get through winter and spring first ❄️🥶😊
