This morning right after I posted the above, I head an animal on Kerry's roof, I turned the TV low and could hear it but couldn't place where it was from the 1st floor. Then my phone beeps, Kerry hears it too! She comes down to join me and I make coffee. She called her guy later and he will come out to seal the eave on the other dormer. She still asked me to get the box trap and set it up in the attic. She'll feel better now. LOL

I took her to Urgent care this morning too. Last week she was being a little too demonstrative with her class and hurt herself, possibly breaking a rib on a table. After not listening and helping her son move yesterday, she was sore this morning.
Do you know what really hurts when you hurt a rib? Laughing. Know what we do all day long? Kerry literally was crying while she was laughing in the Dr's office.

This is the view from the Urgent care....waterfront doctors office! Ribs are okay, she's just bruised it. She handles pain like most real women....you never hear about it...so when I do her in pain, I pay attention.

Nice weekend...she has a lawn again, I rode a bike, son is moved and my laundry is almost done.......lol

I had to have a plumber come yesterday and auger my bathtub drain. That's scary because it's a really old tub and fixtures. The house we live in is a National Home so to replace tubs is crazy. I really tried to behave myself and got out of their way. But at the last I couldn't resist. I had to watch something and told the plumber so. I can imagine what he thought 🤔 when I said I love watching plumbers do their work.😁 he kinda looked at me and laughed 😭 the truth is I love watching plumbers work just in case I have to do it myself again.😊 the only thing I got to see was him putting the fixture back. Boring.😉

Oh No Ms Cathie!

The old style BT drain had "the spring" in which the popup arm inserted, those collected hair, massive amounts of hair. I've pulled 6" long clumps.....nasty. The new ones are pretty simple, when Erin moved, I had to remove hers to clean it. I obviously don't know your piping layout Ms Cathie but there is a P-trap under the BT drain, once the snake or auger gets past that, they are done unless you've got long-term buildup in the 2" lateral coming over to the tub. In many homes, they used to use 1-1/2", and it's really too small for todays showers with multiple heads and accessories.

I'll ask.........how much $$$????

Frickin killer week, and it's barely Thurs! At least this morning I didn't wake till midnight....last couple nights I woke at 11pm. Makes for a long, long day.

My brother is getting married Sat so of course I asked Kerry to find something for them & I would pay the bill. I got her note this morning, we sent him a gift cert for this place in Sedona, looks very cool;
They thrive on that kind of thing! LOL

Thankyou Cathie.

I shall post a new photo later but the weather is awful. However Jacky is now 88. Happy Birthday 🎁🎂 Jacky!

Yes the plumbing is very old. It's an everyday battle for me. I wipe the hair off of the little thing over the drain.when others take a bath you name it I try it. And you're right. It is that toggle. I'm surprised that in all these years it hasn't broken yet. That's why it's scary even having an auger put down through it. My problem in getting a new bathtub and fixtures is plumbers are put off by doing something like that in a National Home. They are actually built different and are on a cement slab to boot. They are a neat house but different to work on. I've only had to call on a plumber for the bathtub twice since 2007 so I think I'm doing halfway decent. I wish I could think of something to put in the little pocket between the top part of the drain and the other part that would strain even more hair out so hair can't go down the drain in the first place.

Oh it was only $225. I found him when I had the water heater replaced and I trust his work. My son was here also this time and they're both veterans. I had to listen to all that before he would just go home 😉😁

I just had a plumber snake my drain under my washer sink. He gave me an estimate of $285.00 for 90 mins of work, whether or not he could clear it. I removed the sink before ho got here, it took him more time to go back to truck 2 times than to clear the drain. 15 mins. I replace the sink when he left

I used to get a plumber from a company called Domestic and General here in the UK.

So here in the states it looks like it's between two and three hundred dollars for a plumber to walk out of his house to go to a service job.

When I used to do it before I turned 42, I used to make $1,000 in a weekend or I wouldn't do the job. I coached 50 some little league teams of various sports and went to more rehearsals then I can remember for my children, they were more important than the money so if it wasn't going to be a lot, I didn't go.

You are lucky to have "a plumbing guy" MS Cathie.

Warren, brilliant my friend! Just brilliant....take away the excuses before he even arrives to make full benefit of the 300 investment!

Dealing with family stuff and I'm not home since yesterday morning, but my ex-wife texted and she's going to come over and take over for me tonight so I can see Kerry at my house. The girls have a party for my oldest's upcoming wedding so I'll be back here tomorrow for the day while they go.

B/c I'm on my phone& too lazy to switch threads:
Oh Yvonne...got the pic......looks more bent at 330am though! It looked like this the day they installed it.

LOL

The plumber was charging me a fee for the estimate $54.00. If I had then do the work, they would subtract it from the total.
