Good morning/afternoon all,
Happy Monday!
It's still very windy but calmer and much drier here today - just a few showers. The weather warning for high winds of 50mph is back for tomorrow night.
I think I've managed to stop the leak in the roof for now but it will need a proper repair when things calm down. Thankfully no other serious damage in the garden.
I hope Natrah, Angie and other UK members haven't had any big problems.

Alfie and I just off for a walk before it gets dark, so see you later.

Back again! Alfie enjoyed his walk, it was quite breezy though, It seems that just as we are getting over Storm Isha we will be hit by Storm Jocelyn tomorrow - 2 named storms in 48 hours! Apparently this autumn and winter we've had more named storms (10) than we have in previous years since they started the naming system - all to do with the Jet Stream. So I'd better get a good night's sleep tonight because I won't get much tomorrow night with heavy rain and 50+ mph winds again.

Good evening everyone!

Yes I'm prepared for Storm Jocelyn tomorrow. I have a railway line behind the flat and the fence is normally concealed but I could see right through it this morning! Also I see that Tennessee is freezing! Mind you it looks very cold where @jeff kushner is.

Good morning everyone!

It's much calmer now but I hope you the leak fixed soon Lyn and Cathie I hope Joe's appointment goes well.

Natrah
Joe's eye appointment went well. Thanks. It was imperative that he did. The lazor treatment will be a great help to protect my brother from being blind and deaf. He did really good with it. It's a great day.🤗

Dear Cathie,

That's good to hear and he's lucky to have such a loving sister looking after him. How are Razberri, Dilly and Sapphire? Razberri and Dilly's teeth okay? By the way Ray's been very quiet is Opo the name of his tortoise?

I wondered where Ray's been lately too. Yes -Opo is the name of his sulcata.

I hope Storm Jocelyn isn't causing too many problems for you today.

Good morning/afternoon all, I hope you're having a better day in the US than we are in the UK.
We are in the thick of Storm Jocelyn at the moment and for the next 7 hours or so, with gusts of between 50 -56 mph battering us and howling around the chimneys. I think the rain has stopped though.
I don't know how you live with hurricanes etc - I would be a nervous wreck!
We haven't been able to go for a walk today so Alfie has been chasing his toy around the house and up and down the stairs. It's just another day for Lola - happy to be in his warm hide and eating well. I've moved his hide into the kitchen because his room is in the bit with the leak. I don't think I've had any water in since but just wanted to be sure he was safe and the electrics stayed dry. He is confined to a small area so won't be wandering around. It's supposed to be a lot calmer from about mid day tomorrow so hopefully I can get someone to check on my roof - but I think roofers are in demand at the moment after the storms.
Time for me to sort out something for dinner so I'll see you later.

It has been very windy and wet here in Devon - we managed to go out with Zola, and he had a brief look at the sea from the shelter of his dad's coat - he really did look, with his head stretched right out, watching the waves crashing on the rocks !

Dear Natrah,

Yes Razberri and Dilly's teeth were good at their doctor visit. Yeah💞🌄and yes Ray's tortoise is Opo 😊 and he is AWOL. I'm about to get a puppy to stir things up and get Razberri and Dilly playing again😉. Sometimes senior citizens need that

It was cold here for us, but nothing like other parts of the country! They got COLD! We saw a low of 11F the other morning.

Yeah, Ray has been gone for a while......

I finally finished my shelving project, even built Kerry a laundry counter. I tested most parts by laying, hanging or walking on. It's tight, it's made of wood and I did it! That's a first!

I hope that you guys over the pond don't get it too bad in this storm! Stay warm and dry!

Matilda gets bored, she tramples her tomato plants....Ms Cathie gets bored, she instigates!

I think Matilda is the little bit+h though out of the 2 of you, she smashes down the plants that I'M looking forward to seeing fruit from some day! I've had them within 2" of the top & sho sneaks out and plows them into the water bowl! I don't know if they will survive this latest 'trampling'.

Yep I do 🤗 I like your shelves. Very nice job 👍 now I'm waiting for March and also April. First a wedding then my sister is renewing her vows on their 50th. I'm thinking I'll do a yellow mini rose and violets in a gold basket for their present. Cheap cheap 😁

Thank you Ms Cathie, it's not easy for "wood & I". When the kids were little, the wooden swing-set from Hechinger's(I'm dating myself) was all the rage and it cost $119. I told Peg, "that's a waste of 120bucks if I buy it". We bought the $350 Sears playset made of pipe! I prepainted each piece with clearcoat and assembled and set in concrete footpads. 19 yrs later, it was still solid.

I'm very proud of my shelves...sent the pics to the kids too! They know I don't do well with wood.

Wedding stuff-We covered 2 nights at the hotel for our traveling guests for our wedding but most are only staying there Fri night. I figured so but was able to secure the entire place by buying all their rooms for the 2nd night too so all in all, it's an inexpensive rental. Friends can stay in the empties.....it's cool, the couples would get a romantic night out of it!

Migraine stuff I just saw Dr Chrio for maybe the last time. My ins ends at the end of the month and I won't be on Kerry's till March of course...so I'll wing February. I can always pay cash and he told me today, don't worry. I always thought work was the migraine cause.....and it seems to be getting better each week now, whether I see him or not. He also noticed and estimated a 15% reduction in tension since I saw him 2 weeks ago. My job was all-pressure, all the time. I found ways to relieve it at work but most, even the guys that are really good, fold within 20 years at it. I did it nearly twice as long and it absolutely burned me out, just took longer than mere mortals...LOL

Now I get the good part......days where I can take a long and slow walk to the water, putter in the yard. Even with the other things going on, THIS is so much better!!

Fam stuff-Her brother is returning from Fl, broke and claiming to be confused tomorrow....at 52 years of age. Really dude? REALLY? This is the 3rd or 4th time, in a dozen years. We got him a ticket from Ft MEyers to Wilmington. He will stay here a day and her other brother will pick him up and take him to NY.

The fam insists they aren't enabling while they enable and draft me into their efforts. I said my opinion on the phone. They don't want to upset Dad who is 93. I suggested that this isn't a surprise to Dad, he knows the boy is a frukup and he also has more DAD-Experience than all of us, combined so isn't it presumptuous to assume he can't handle his boy living in a tent somewhere???.....but it fell on a deaf crowd. I went to my home today and filled a big bin with clothes for him...new socks, used-winter coat, hat, several pairs of pants and shirts and a bunch of pullover outdoor sweaters. He should be good now when he gets to NY. My contribution b/c as much of a lazy bum he is, he has a very low ceiling and he's a good person inside so I love the guy.

I love that article M......that is so funny! The birds all flying around, swearing like sailors! LOL

SLOW, dreary but 60+F warm day here. Kerry got a 90min delay due to fog. I did a lot of moving heavy things and unpacking "fluids" yesterday and began stocking the shelves till 8pm. I was pretty beat and am sore this morning.

I'm going to unpack and load my toolbox today.....not sure yet where the "extras" are going but I'll figure it out.

It's warm out so I will probably bike to the water.....between the rain showers.

I love the little flower......and it was COLD where you live Ms Cathie!

Enjoy the day guys
