Thanks Jeff, I know the predicament you were in. In 86 I lost a 4yr old son to a brain tumor. The next funeral I went to. I had no warning signs. I walked into the funeral home. Saw the open casket and froze. I couldn't get out of the place fast enough crying like a baby all the way out.
On a lighter note as I wipe my nose.
Rose takes the old and dying cactus pads and throws them in the field next door. In the last few weeks there is signs of growth.

Hey all let's take a poll.
There are 5 suitcases lost in the international airline system. 2 of Rose's suitcases and 2 of Nanay's from the original flight. 1 of Nanay's lost when she went back to indure the beast.
I say none get recovered.

I can't even imagine one of my kids.............just staggering.

My buddy was an alcoholic, he didn't even look like a human, it looked like a scarecrow. About 45 minutes in, I was able to approach and take to my knees and we chatted but I couldn't look at his face. I just kept calling him an A/H.
His wife was happy I was there as were the guys at the Sprinkler company where he & I had worked in '79. He was forced to stop working there 4 yrs ago due to his drinking. We chatted a bit but I was really unable to make any connections. I was overwhelmed by everything. It could have been me in that box. I have been sober for 33 yrs in Aug. Roger and I stopped hanging out about the time I got sober.............he apparently never did and it progressed. He didn't have a heart attack or stroke, his body just gave out. He went off the deep end when he stopped working and the last several weeks had been really bad according to his oldest son. His saving grace was that since the day I met him as a kid, he was TIGHT!! He made Lincoln cry! He likely still had the 1st dollar he ever made. He left his wife quite well off.

We all make choices in life.....I have been lucky to have had a guardian angel for when mine weren't so great. Trust me, my guardian angel has worked hard! I just wish my friend would have had one.

I came over to the project house yesterday morning at 7, did the last drywall tape & spackle and a million other things, went to be at 9 and woke at 11.....gonna be a long night.

Yes Sapphire got outside today. It's been a weird spring. It's more like our normal temps for this time of year. I've had him out here and there though on warm days. Mr Fre is a creature 😂 I haven't quite figured out yet 🙃🏀🏈 but he loves to play ball. That much I know. Treats don't work but give him a ball and he'll do anything you want. I see those little wheels spinning around in his eyes sometimes too. He looks like he's a nutcase.🤔🙏 for me.😊
🙃🤣

Ray, I need help. I tried to PM you but I couldn't figure out how to attach the pictures. When I moved in my home there was a row of receptacles on a back wall all wired leading into my utility area but not terminated. I took the wire and terminated it but found that one half of the receptacles top or bottom, was not working.

And here is the box where I terminated the wires and simply put a wire nut on the red wire because I didn't know it was connected to the receptacles.

What do I do to fix this?

Help!

It was split wired/wired so one half could be controlled by a switch, the red was meant to go to a switch. Theres a tab that connects the screws. You break it off to split them, so now one isn't connected to a hot.

If the red wire isn't being used except by those receptacles, I'd replace the receptacles with new so there's a tab. You might be able to just connect the red to hot to get them working but having 2 hots to same receptacle for no reason could be a pita for someone in the future

Thank you thank you thank you! If I read this correctly, I can either replace my receptacles and leave the red wire off of them or and much easier, I can wire the red wire nutted wire to Black in the junction box which will power all the receptacles. Is that correct?

I have deciphered electrical issues in this house for 17 years. He even ran one Romex line up to capture a switch on the ground side, then used the third carrier wire for a completely separate circuit for a Whirlpool tub in the second bathroom! It took me 3 weeks to figure that mess out so I'm tapped out fixing his mistakes. I just want to get it so it works correctly without putting anybody in any danger.

And I really appreciate your help J, I can do a lot of things but electrical work is one of those where the adage a little bit of knowledge is very dangerous comes true for me.

I think I know a lot more than I actually do

I'm so glad Rose stayed home. I hope the luggage stays lost if the two of them get to go shopping for all new. If not why not? and even if you do get the luggage it should be where you paid for it to be in the first place. The two of them are owed a shopping trip no matter what..

Ray, we're surrounded by women.....................mostly all strong willed and confident women. I'm good with that, you?

I have not been this physically and mentally exhausted since I bid the US governments Usamrid and Usamric labs in Aberdeen and Ft Detrick years ago. I haven't spent 4 days in a row with my Kerry since we got married.

Kerry and I talked on the phone a little while ago.." you know honey, a lot of couples would hate one another by now". I just miss her.

The 3 person cleaning crew shows up at 1 today, the real estate agent at 4:30.

All that remains is setting the price...

You guys know that I haven't moved any furniture....................I am willing to sell the home fully furnished...every single appliance that you could ever want, furniture, TV's, remote control window treatments, dishes, silverware, even a good lawnmower, rake and shovel in the shed.

The thing is, there may be no value in that...............we'll find out later today when the agent comes over.

Kerry put together a list of "Features" and this house, while not "all that", checks a lot of boxes. A lot more than should be included in a home in a middle class neighborhood.

I just want her to tell me that I'm finally "move in ready" and that I will utilize every dime of the 250K exclusionary rule.....

LOL

In an epitome of selfcenteredness, I completely forgot to tell you guys that Kerry found that she is eligible for Early Retirement and the money will cover health insurance for her and our youngest daughter! She wasn't comfortable, completely comfortable with her not feeling like she was contributing something to the finances even though she knows I don't care.

SHE is thrilled and I'm thrilled for her... they even gave her a party yesterday when she announced it to the teachers at her school. I'm just really happy that she can enjoy that feeling of finally putting down the cymbals and feeling good about it.

I tease her all the time that people who work past retirement age sound like programmed North Koreans when they tell me how happy they are with their work. LOL

I
