Good afternoon/evening all.
Looks like our run of good weather is coming to an end with rain and thunderstorms on the way for the weekend. The wildlife needs it so I don't mind

My car is having it's MOT tomorrow - hopefully it's still roadworthy even though it's 17 years old. Chances are that it will need some work for it to pass, but I really don't want the hassle of looking for a new car.

My trail camera has picked up a rat in the garden 🐀 So I've been 'training him to go into a jammed open humane trap then tomorrow morning I'll set it and take him on a little trip for a new life in some woods. I don't mind him as long as he stays outside, but if the neighbours see him they'll make a fuss and poison him. So at least he'll have a chance in the woods.

I hope you're all having a good week. TTFN

Darn MOTs, I used to hate going for those when I lived there especially with my VW Jetta. Had to reconfigure so many things with headlights, tail lights & adding a FOG light too.

Our car is the same age as yours, and recently had its latest MOT. It failed- we were very upset, as it seemed that there was a problem with the steering, and it was likely to need a new steering system, which would be extremely expensive. But our wonderful garage man (Zola's Uncle Martin) said that there was a possibility that a connector on the end of the steering wheel stick had worked loose, in which case it could be fixed. So he fetched his tools, and bashed away at it - and after 10 minutes or so, it was properly fixed again - and he didn't charge us for it, either ! We were extremely relieved, as we really don't want the trouble and expense - the car we have is fine now !!!Good luck with your MOT.

Yes, it was a very hard decision and a very sad day as we loaded Sully up for her next adventure. Wifey was in tears as Kerry & Jeff drove away. But we know it’s the best for Sully with Ray in Florida - sunshine, high temps, lots of grass, banana leaves & cactus, and rain/humidity.
Dear Maro2Bear,

Hopefully Ray will keep in touch with pictures of Sully. Do you have any other tortoises? You made a very kind decision borne our of love.

Congratulations Ray, it's great that Sully has a lovely new home and that Mark can keep track of him via TFO. I hope Opo and Sully get on okay, or will they have separate areas? Looking forward to hearing how their story continues.
They have separate areas, they are both excited knowing there is a tortoise on the other side. Can't see each other, but I am sure they can smell each other.

Will definitely share pictures of how Sully is getting along. She came out this morning and started right away eating grass. That gave me some relief.

Good morning all and a very wet one here, no thunder yet though. There's a warning for even heavier rain tomorrow.

Looks like the lambda sensor was causing my engine light to come on. The garage reset it so that it would pass the Mot and told me to keep an eye on it for now in case it was just a glitch, but if it comes on again I'll probably have it replaced, as from what I've read it could cause bigger problems if left.
They also said the tracking adjusters are rusted and seized, so they couldn't do that when they fitted the tyres. Only about £100 for parts but the labour costs will bump that up. Still - cheaper than buying a new car.

I can hear Lola stirring so I'd better go and serve his breakfast - he won't be going out for a while today.

I'm so mad at myself.😠 I had a very short power cut last night, and only just realised it tripped the power supply for Lola's reptile radiator which means he has been without the heat from it since last night. He's had the heat from his uvb tube all day, but nothing all through the night.
Thankfully he's been out and about today and eaten well, so it doesn't seem to have affected him, but thank goodness I just checked, his temp gauge, before going to bed otherwise he would have been getting cold again. What a numpty I am - poor Lola!

I am not going to steal Ray's thunder on the launch info, LOL You got this brother.

But glad it didn't fly over the 🇬🇧!

Now up in Daytona Beach for a few days... and the water is 150' away....i need this. I will chill while Kerry and Daughter go shopping and cooking together between her classes. She revealed at dinner tonight that her BF may propose. She said he measured her finger with a string while he thought she was asleep.
Crappy pic but you knew it would be! LOL

First day of Autumn & we have many many flocks of Canada geese flying and honking high overhead. Winter is around the corner.
I'm VERY glad to have seen the last of the triple digit weather days, and I LOVE dressing in sweats, but it's kinda' sad to see summer go.

We have a lot of geese arriving here too. My sister sent me a video of a large flock flying over her house in typical V formation. I don't think I can post it here but I'm sure you've all seen it yourselves.
