What's worse are the tornadoes that can be stirred up and accompany a hurricane. They are so unpredictable. We use the Beaufort ScaleView attachment 380582
My friends in Michigan tell me we should evacuate. I tell them I have a full tank of gas. With no guarantee to be able to find gas. All the hotels in the surrounding states. Are full with the evacuated people from the previous hurricane. Atlanta is setting up more shelters for the people coming from Florida. Here we will be in a category 1 or 2. Right now projected winds will be 65 to 85mph with some higher gusts. Those types of winds will not remove your roof. The biggest problem will be how long we will be without electricity. I have registered with Emergency Management. They are aware of my medical issues. I would go to a medical type shelter. Though shelters here are safe, they are a little to be desired longterm. I don't expect we will need a shelter. I have enough oxygen for 4 days.i will keep you all posted as long as I am able.Hope everyone like @Ray--Opo are taking this one seriously. Folks that are evacuating have no place to go, roads north are packed, most petrol locations are out!

Keep a smile on your face while you ride the rollercoaster. This month seems to be going crazy. I'm praying for my friends in the path of Milton. Tomorrow Mr Fre gets neutered because he has a birth defect and they're not sure where the lost thingy is. He could have up to three incisions. Then I'll have the balloon kytoplasty on my back the 22nd. That's when I get glued or cemented back together. On the 31st I'll be celebrating my bunny's 9th birthday. So it's an up and down up and down crazy ride. Things to be afraid about and things to be thankful for. Geesh.
that's not even mentioning the MRI yesterday with only earplugs and no

Hope everything goes wellGood morning/afternoon all.
It's a very soggy day here again.
My car is in the garage having the lambda sensor replaced (I keep wanting to call it the lambada sensor). They did say it would be ok to ignore it, but the engine warning light stayed on after the MOT, and when I was trying to pick up speed, on the motorway last week the car felt as if it was resisting or hiccupping. I was worried it would break down. So for peace of mind I decided to get it fixed. I just hope the repair doesn't cost more than the value of the car!!
One of my sisters has been admitted to hospital with suspected Conns Syndrome. Her BP has been sky high for a while and her potassium levels really low - a recipe for disaster, but hopefully they can stabilize her.
I hope you're all having a good Tuesday.
TTFN.
Please do keep us posted, Ray - there will be a lot of people thinking of you - and of Opo and Ms Sully too - I can see why you wouldn't want to go to a shelter, though. Lots of fingers will be crossed for you !My friends in Michigan tell me we should evacuate. I tell them I have a full tank of gas. With no guarantee to be able to find gas. The same to you. I understand why you don't leave at this point. You could get stuck in the traffic with no gas and no place to stay anyway. I've been praying for you and Rose and your beautiful 2 tortoises and all my other friends there in Florida. Also just the people of Florida in general. It's so hard for them during these types of weather issues. Now twice. They've got to be worn out. I hope Milton downgrades quickly.Keep a smile on your face while you ride the rollercoaster.
It scares me to but I'm more scared to keep having to live with it. I have a really high pain threshold yet this had tears running down my face at one point and I wasn't crying. It's better with not so much pain but I can't wait to get this fixed. I don't even know what I did to set it off. I didn't feel the original injury back in May. I think I reinjured an old injury somehow. I guess I'm not superwomanGuess who came back this evening? LOL we saw him go to bed for the day!
I am going to setup my Havahart traps on his "highways". The girl whose house he has been breaking into told us of his 7am to 7pm schedule. When I catch him, he will take ride to another part of the county.
Whoops, there goes Ollie the Owl....those things make a lot of different calls! View attachment 380639
Here he is this evening running to the woods after leaving Natalie's house.
Wow MS Cathie, you've got a lot going on! I hope the surgery goes well. Back stuff scares me. Good luck!
Nothing going on right now but some rain. Things won't get crazy around here. Until around 6am thurs morning.Hope Ray's okay. We have an internet outage here.
Natrah
Wow!
Aw Cathie you have a lot to deal with at the moment. I hope it all goes well for Mr Fre, and especially for you. Happy birthday to the bunny too. This month seems to be going crazy. Just realised it's Natrah the internet problem, so hope the router will be fixed or replaced soon.Thank you!
Hope you have the internet back soon.
It's very kind of people to look after him but it could be his downfall in the end if he encounters someone less tolerant, or if he causes some damage. I hope he doesn't come to a nasty end.Rocky looks like one of those raccoons that really likes people. I'd almost bet neighbors have been feeding the darling or have food out.
The good thing is you've had time to prepare , but I'm still worried about you and the torts and will be keeping an eye on the news to see how Florida is faring. I wish I could come and airlift you all out of there.Nothing going on right now but some rain. Things won't get crazy around here. Until around 6am thurs morning.
Thanks Lyn, As the hurricane comes across the state. Hopefully it will break up and weaken. The good thing is you've had time to prepare , but I'm still worried about you and the torts and will be keeping an eye on the news to see how Florida is faring. Glad you have everything you need for the short term. Thanks Lyn, As the hurricane comes across the state. Hopefully it will break up and weaken.
Opo and Ms.Sully will be ok. Even if we lose power the temperature at night will only get down in the upper 60's. So hand warmers should work out to keep them warm at night.
We are prepared, plenty of bottle water and food. Freezer is full of ice and bathtub will be full of water. Looks like it won't last to long. Probably from early Thursday morning into the evening. I like it when the bad weather. Will be during the day time.
