I moved here because the nut house thread has become more quiet.
Okay.
This thread was a breakaway from another chatroom which I believe is also quiet now.
The Nut House was years later on, a breakaway from this one, in part!
But this thread is a lot quieter since most of the regulars either left the forum or died

Interesting, well I found the nut house first but it was very quiet. Then I found my way in here.

Wow guys, you all have been busy! I'm a little concerned bout the author of this thread, but I'm sure we all are....in a good sweet-copper taste in the mouth way.LOL

They are going to examine superman from both ends in the morning. I will be taking a well deserved nap since I have been up since 2am yesterday. I have a migraine that I'm trying to beat back before I start my 2nd prep at 2am this morning! Good times...yuck
Hope it all goes well Jeff. Not a pleasant experience but a necessary evil.

Good morning/afternoon all.
It's blooming cold but very bright and sunny so not all bad. We're back to warmer, but 'batten down the hatches' weather for the weekend when Storm Bert hits us, so we have to make the most of today and tomorrow.

I've had my flu and COVID jabs. I expect I'll have sore arms later, but hopefully no symptoms that make me feel groggy.

I hope you're all having a good Thursday. TTFN

Just like a high pitched continual squeal.
Still no nearer finding out where it comes from.
There was no noise last night, but it has happened several times over the last few weeks. It doesn't start until the early hours of morning. If we could hear it in the evening I and others would take a walk to try to find out where it comes from but I can't go wandering about in the middle of the night especially as temps are below 25F at the moment.
The problem we have here. Some of the septic tanks have a alarm on them. When we lose electricity the alarm gets triggered and starts to sound off. We lose power for a few seconds often. So if the home with that alarm system. Happens to be empty because it's for sale or maybe a rental. The alarm can make it's sound for days.

I was blessed yesterday. A very nice person and his wife cut, split and loaded a cord of firewood onto their trailer then drove over 200 miles from their home to mine and stacked said firewood in my yard. I honestly don't know what I did to deserve friends like this. What a selfless act! Now I'm set for the winter. No worries on keeping the house warm. I simply can't thank them enough. While they were here they also split a bunch of eucalyptus rounds that were too big for my wood stove.

I don't understand. Why would a septic tank require an alarm? To let you know it's getting full?

Rain! Yes, we finally had a good old-fashioned storm last night. Almost one solid inch of rain. Real lightning & thunder too.

We still have geraniums & impatiens blooming outside. BUT, western portions of Maryland might get upwards of 2 ft of snow tonight & tomorrow.

My arms are tired. A solid hour of swimming laps yesterday. 💧🏊‍♀️🏊🏊‍♂️
