I live in a mainly agricultural area of the UK, and one of the really nice things that happens near Christmas is that one sees many tractor drivers and drivers of huge trucks wearing complete Santa costumes (often beard and all) as they go about their work.
I wondered if this was a common custom elsewhere ?
Angie
Yeah I remember that from the UK.
Did it myself a coupe of times.
Nothing like that in Morocco, sadly.

Yes there are many Santas here too. In all kinds of ways though. Not just in trucks. Everywhere you look there's a Santa. It's a wonder kids haven't figured it all out yet. They still believe. Or maybe they just believe because they continue to see them everywhere.😊 from the looks of it he got an early start. Unlike me.
I still believe in Santa,
And the Tooth Fairy.
And the Sock Goblin.
They are real!
Don't believe what boring adults tell you!

Yup, the Christmas parades here in Chestertown and Centerville, the Halloween parade...any parade....tractors, flatbeds, OLD tractors. Some of the farm equip going down the road(farm to farm) is easily tall enough to drive a car under!

We drove down to St Michaels today/yesterday and had lunch in one of the taverns, fantastic food! We went to a Christmas store that was amazing. They had a "theme tree" for everything! There was the;
Beer drinkers tree
Wine drinkers tree
Whisky drinkers tree
A "Black" tree
A motorcycle tree
Car tree
Tractor tree
Crafty tree
Crab tree
Animal tree
Old fashion tree
and probably 300 others that I'm not going to type! It was awesome and I don't do "Christmas stores"!

Here, the local fire department crew all dress up as Santas & drive the firetrucks around all the streets. The first year we were here the noise & commotion was all very scary.!

So y'all know that I love my Kerry...gem that she is however, she occasionally(read: everyday) is oblivious of her surroundings. It's so bad that when I debated where to hide her Christmas gift, I decided just to put it on the shelf, she will never see it! As if to prove this, that very evening she got home from NY.

I had swapped TV's around while she was gone and removed the small 32" from our bedroom. It sat on her long dresser and was around 18" tall. So I put it in another room and replaced it with the 55" that had been on the wall in the living room. I put a stand under it and placed it on her dresser. It sits about 40" tall and is four and a half feet wide!

She was in the bedroom for 5 minutes by herself and never saw it.

I walked in and asked if anything was different.....she glanced around and acted like it had just appeared!!!

It sits higher off the floor than she does!

DOH De DOH.....lol

Yup. a gem!

Rose is getting her decorating done. Asked her to not wear herself out. But it's not happening. I just don't want her sick for Christmas.
You can see how involved she gets The wreath started with no decorations. Just plain green and some lights on it. View attachment 384299
Love your door sticker 😅

Okay, I am going to tell a story and I hope you don't get offended. The few Americans I have met don't represent you all and I acknowledge it, BUT most of the Americans i have met face to face here in Finland have been people spreading their religion. There is this one american in my city who went to the city center every day to cite the bible from memory with a huge loudspeaker. Haven't seen him in a while, maybe it is too cold. It feels like something is missing every time I pass that place he used to stand in. I just think it is a weird reason to ravel all to way to a smaller city in Finland.
