I heard a Jamaican owl here last night! The girl up front told us that there are a couple of them on the grounds. They sound very much like the Barred owls at home. Im still trying to see one before we leave tomorrow. Weather has been fine, rain most evenings. Last night as we came back to our tree house I left a plate with watermelon rinds outside on a bench. The staff didn't see it since we didn't come in till later but this morning there wasn't a single bug on the plate! Not one....makes me wonder how safe WE are here! Lol

Looking forward to coming home. We used to call the last vac day "the sad day" because there was work to go back to.... but not anymore!

We can get milder ones with less cortisone without a prescription, but they are only sold in pharmacies.
If you were asking if the medicine was good after a year. The answer is that depends on the expiration date on the package.

Just started snowing here, but I don't think we will get much snow. Right now the forecast is anticipating 8 cm or approximately 3.1 inches of snow for Friday.
It's not a usual thing but we can get snow even as late as May 18th. There was snow on the ground the day I received my little Russian. It wasn't even an inch but it was still cold.

Today was pretty nice. It was chilly out but I was able to repair Sapphire's outdoor enclosure with a light jacket. In the sun it got up to maybe 60°f or more.. Sapphire's enclosure is the warmest spot in the yard. The weather man is promising a real warmup next week and further. Sapphire's first day out of the year is fast approaching.

Lol, I put Big Matt out before we left....he is going to be mad at me when we get home tomorrow. Tonight at my house, its going to be in the low 30's. I stuffed lots of dry leaves in there so he will be fine....just cold & mad! Lol

I remember once having snow on the last day of school back when I was in primary school. That would have been 1st of June.

I saw a tv programme a few days ago about the burrowing owls on Marco Island. It's great how the residents just let them carry on and leave them alone.
Safe travels home.

When I was in uni in the Midlands back in the late 70s we had snow on my mother's birthday in June. It didn't last of course but was very unusual.

It's lovely here if you are in the sun, but there is still quite a chill if you're not. It's warmer outdoors than in at the moment 😏

Good morning all.
I am pretty tired at the moment, thanks to a wood mouse that wandered in through my open garden door and has found his way to my bedroom. 😱 So I'm using another.
I have 3 different types of live catch traps out, but the sneaky thing has managed to avoid 2 of them and worked out how to escape from the other one by undoing a catch on the trap door! I filmed him and couldn't believe how clever he was to work it out. So the battle continues. I can't kill him and if he would just cooperate he would realize I'm trying to help him go back where he belongs,😏
Hopefully today will be his last as my lodger.
I hope everyone has a warmer and drier Thursday.

Sometimes we have snow or hail storms in late June, but in these nstances the snow doesn't stay on the ground for long. This has ruined the Midsummer celebration mood for many Finns on several occasions.

We can't wait to get home! It's been great and we realized that this is the first out of the country vac we've taken where we don't have to go back to work! Yay!
Beautiful!

Poor you.🤞🙏 I hope you can catch him and boot him out the door quickly . Here's hoping he doesn't take a liking to being a house mouse.🤗🙏🤗🙏

It's been chilly enough to need a light jacket to get out. Even around Sapphire's outdoor enclosure. After you get outside doing stuff though the fresh crisp air feels amazing. Even with the jacket still on. It so nice it makes it hard to come back into a stuffy warm house.

We got home and it was 43F. The house was 60f......burr.
I went outside and dug up Matilda to bring him inside for the night. He was happy to be inside. Even at 9pm he took a bath and walked around for an hour before going back to sleep. Lol
