I don't like them either and I agree with Richard - they do look revolting. The rest of my family love them.

Oh dear, what a disappointment
My neighbours have been away all week and it's been lovely. I think they are due back tonight and I can already feel my anxiety levels rising.
Last weekend I was balancing on top of my step ladders cutting back my tree next to their fence and as I lowered my long reach pruner it knocked one of the solar lights they have along the top of their fence and broke it. I could have kicked myself.
It looks as if it was broken and glued before, but anyway I managed to replace it with a new one. My dilemma now is do I tell them or not?
I don't think they can complain too much as I replaced it with exactly the same light, but as they aren't usually reasonable I'm sure they'll have something to say.

I have been reading up on the eviction process and unless they've agreed another date the landlords may have to get a court order

I would be inclined not to tell them - they should be grateful for getting a new one,anyway. They may well not notice- did you keep their original repaired light? If so, you can prove you have done them a favour !Oh dear, what a disappointment

I'm a coward. I've pushed a note through, I thought it better to own up in case they notice at some point that the glue residue and the repair had disappeared completely from the original light - not just super glue a miracle glue that heals plastic!!
Their grandson is always kicking footballs at the fence so I bet that's how it was first broken. I'm surprised it stayed stuck at all with the weight of the light. I only really tapped it with my pruner, but it had a weak spot, so they've done very well to get a new one. Hopefully they won't want to pick a fight over it.
No guys, no mushy peas but bright green freshly cooked. I use 40mg gummies when with family to avoid the smell of smoking flower so that 5mg in the seltzer wasn't going to blast me off into space! Lol and just in case you're wondering, I do not drive when I choose to use, Kerry does.
I may loose my sanity today...everything with her family is a production. It takes days to go 500 miles. I am used to driving 500 in a day. I am simple. This wears on me but we should finally make it home later today.
Something funny happened at the Gravesite service yesterday morning. Her cousin showed up with his kids....16 year old boy and 13 or 14 year old daughter looking well past 18 and she was wearing a tight, a VERY form-fitting and short short knit "little black dress" with bobby socks and tennis shoes looking like a piece of sugar candy and Kerry covered that girl so fast with a coat that i only have a memory while claiming the girl was cold. LOL It wasn't obvious to everyone but it sure was to me. It was a nice service and we shared a meal afterwards before we began the trek home.
I like Kerry's Dad...the old guy is in better shape than me and he will be 95 in 3 weeks but driving 300 miles a day kills me.....i don't want to go anywhere with him again. Maybe this is how the Vikings and nomadic tribes worked.....when dad can't keep up any longer, he's left behind? Aw well!

Neighbours are home and disecting how I could possibly have broken their light, instead of thanking their lucky stars I replaced it and had the decency to own up to it.
He is complaining about the 3 little twigs and a few leaves that I couldn't stop from dropping over their fence ( or 'her sh*t' as he delicately puts it). Can't win - they complain if the tree gets too tall and complain when I cut it!

I often see young teenage girls at formal, solemn occasions dressed inappropriately and I wonder why their parents allow it and don't offer some guidance. They can still look fashionable without putting everything on display.
Personally I love seeing someone else's daughter primped up....but certainly my own girls never were allowed to dress that way and Kerry is also very modest.

You did what YOU felt was the right thing to do Lyn. Don't feel badly for doing what you knew was the right thing to do, EVER!
We don't control how others receive us...that part is up to them. The important thing is not to ever let bad people make you feel badly for doing the right thing. I call those folks evil and not deserving of any engagement from me.

Lyn, I would have left it....Replace the broken light, but not mention a word of prior events. In the grand scheme of things, it most likely would have never been noticed. I don't need the aggravation of "a$$ hole" neighbors life is too short. AND . . . if they had cameras showing the area, they would have had to notice something (not likely) to check the footage, just to see you clipping some twigs and . . .replacing the light. You stepped up did the right thing and replaced the broken Light, end of story.
Well, I'm fit to be tied. 20 months ago I had a new solar PV system installed, then the Manufacturer/Installer (SunPower) declared bankruptcy 7 months later. They were not a small company. In June the Batteries were showing no state of charge. Tech support/warrantee is now gone. Went online found a guy who lives 40 miles away that had worked on SunPower in the past. He was able to talk me through a repair/restart @$450. Now Yesterday night I saw a big RED "world" Icon . . .crud!. Batteries not discharging over night. Gotta try contacting "The Guy" Emilio to see if he can help me again. Beginning to think my $60k system was not such a good idea. I desperately hate Tesla, but they may have been a better choice. Ah, the aggravation.
Hassle you could well do without. I'd love to have solar panels installed on my roof, but it's such a minefield finding a reputable and reliable company over here. I hope you manage to sort it out soon.

I have a habit of letting folks seek their full potential so 10 or so years ago I put him on one of my motorcycles (actually one that I had given to kerry earlier) and we all went riding together. He did fantastic and had a blast.
Kerry's dad will be 95 year old in 3 weeks on 8/26/25
So I asked Kerry's Dad if he wanted to go to the range to go shooting. He hasn't shot in 4 decades but he was once the US Army Champion with the sidearm. I asked him if he could see the targets b/c he has so much trouble with his vision. His eyes lit up at the idea. He believes that he can and of course I'm all for it. I have a small caliber 22 handgun that we can have a blast with.
So an hour later Kerry corners me in the garage and got me to agree that if he forgets and doesn't bring it up, I won't bring it up again. Kerry is a bit worried about him having a mindless moment. I am not worried about him. I actually trust him more than Kerry as she was only a NY state champ....a lower level than US Army. LOL She did agree that if he DOES bring it up, we can go!!
