No more babies. To tell you the truth and don't hate me. With the over abundance of baby Sulcata tortoises. I decided I would break the eggs. It was uncomfortable and it still gives me a knot in my stomach. I let Ms.Sully bury the eggs and I poked thru the dirt. With a metal rod. I obviously didn't break all the eggs. Now that I know what Opo will try to do. To get to Ms.Sully, I have reinforced everything. I have two more nesting sites, that may have some hatchings in October. Since a female can stay fertile for around 8 months. If I can keep Opo away from Ms.Sully. Everything should work out after October.
You shouldn't really feel bad about that because you're right. And you've taken steps to prevent more unwanted babies from being born so I'm wishing you the best. If any are born I'm pretty sure you're in the right place at TFO to get some help with the situation. It would be a lot worse of a situation to find good forever homes for a bunch of sulcatas. That would be a heartache for years worrying about them. And I know you and Rose would.

My neighbor had shingles real bad on his back. Suffered for a few days years. Then the vaccine was developed and it cleared up.
Hope everything works out well for you.
It's weird because even though I don't really get the flu shot every year I was considering the shingles vaccine the last few weeks. I was planning on getting it. Now I KNOW I'm getting it. And I will recommend it to everyone that has had chicken pox. This is awful 😞

It was probably the Dominos rather than the clearing out prior. I'm pretty sure it barely qualifies as "food fit for human consumption". I had a rescue dog that must have been with college kids before she came to live with me. She loved pizza. During that same time my son was helping his buddy in the family's Pizzaria that made excellent real hand-made pizza. The dog waited by the door anytime she heard his car so she'd be first in line for the good pizza. In the daytime he cleaned for a tourist short term rental. There was a day when he brought home a Dominos left at the rental. As per their routine he opened the box as soon as he got home and gave the dog a slice. She looked at him like he was traitor, took two steps back, deposited it on the floor, and walked away.

And just found this on YouTube yesterday ~
Sounds like Mr Fre 😁😁😁😁 he's so picky 😂

Very happy that nothing was found!!!
And it's really good idea to start check it earlier.
Unfortunately, colon cancer started to attack young people. I have 4 clients with the stage 4 and their age ranges from 25yo to 28yo.
Yes I've been hearing about that on the news that young people are getting it. My mother and an aunt died of it. That doctor is very good and thorough it seems.

Bad mistake eating pizza last night. After drinking the medicine to clean me out. That pizza went thru me all night long.
Good thing I am used to not much sleep.
Poor you. But my guess is anything would have. I was lucky all I had to drink was Pedialyte with miralax or am I. With colitis I stay cleared out. Well I'll be ready for my next one 😉 I guess.

I had my first one today, note that I am really young to be getting one. Well, nothing was found and the doctor said that I don't have to come back in a few decades! Glad that it is over, but interested to see what my doctor wants to do next.

It was also my first time to get sedatives before a procedure, as it is normal here to remove wisdom teeth etc. without any (I have had two removed on separate occasionswith the power of numbing and some paracetamol).

The stuff that I had to drink before hand was awful though.
I hope your doctor gets to the bottom of your problem soon with not too many procedures for you to get through.🙏

I am keeping a lookout. They will be fine until the cold nights start happening.
I am keeping a eye on the Gopher tortoise nest also. If I do find baby Gopher tortoises. It will be hard not to intervene. But I have to let mother nature do her thing.
Yes I think in Florida you're not allowed to do anything for them at all. My son and family were at a baseball game there and a gopher decided to waltz across the field. They had to stop the game until the gopher decided to leave.😉😊🐢🐢🐢🐢

eh, I think Dominos is one of the better chain pizzas. For the top 5 chains I think it goes:
Marcos
Dominos
Papa Johns
Pizza Hut
Little Caesars

But did the news say why it happens?.....
Superprocessed or Ultraprocessed foods are being looked at I think but maybe someone knows for sure?

Grounding or being in physical contact with the Earth is said to reduce inflammation EVERYWHERE in the body. They have conducted real scientific methodology that shows a near instant impact and over 2 hours, the differences were startlingly. This is not the "I shield myself from negative energy man" stuff but real natural sciences.

I've been reading some White papers and it's intriguing.

Yes, it's pretty much junk food that our body doesn't recognize. In some cases it's obesity. Plus immune system.

Buddhists practice grounding for centuries. Ancient Chinese techniques are impressive and still alive!
I had horrible allergies for 25 years (I couldn't eat any fruits, vegetables etc, I couldn't be around dust or animals). I spent months in hospitals and nothing was working until I found a Chinese doctor who did acupuncture. 15 sessions and no signs of allergies.

Yeah, there's definitely something to a lot of "lost"(code for unprofitable) healing methods. It slows a lot with age but im going to explore it further.

I was sitting on the deck this evening as Kerry and i watched the tree guy cutting next door and Kerry walks by one of our sprinklers sticking up a couple of inches. Before I could react she stepped on it and i heard it crunch, never to rise again as we found out an hour later. A new sprinkler has now been installed. Dang....LOL

He was way up there! Tore Rick's yard up but he will be able to repair it.20250812_095053_HDR.jpg

Pizza Express is a British chain, but apparently they are expanding into the US this year.

I was walking to a shop yesterday evening and a set of 4 light weight ladders was left outside a house in my street with a note saying 'free ladders help yourself'
- so I did! 😀
Maybe I can start a window cleaning business now. 😀

Good morning/afternoon all
My car is still in the garage, so no news on what's going on with that yet.
I had a dentist appointment this morning, and I knew I'd broken a cusp off one of my back molars, so I opted to just have a filling at £60. Good news!
Then came the bad news I can't have it done until next June because I'm an NHS patient. ☹️😯 Goodness knows how much of the tooth would be left if I waited that long.
However, if I have it done as a private patient she can do it in October for £136 - same dentist.
It really annoys me that having paid contributions for all my working life I'm now a second class citizen and private patients take priority and all the appointments.
Obviously I had to go for the most expensive option to try to save the tooth. Dentists are raking it in over here, no wonder they only work 2 or 3 days a week.
I know you folks in the US don't have the NHS option so may be wondering what I'm moaning about, but when it's a system you've grown up, you can see how broken our NHS is and how it's changed for the worse.

Anyway, moan over. Hope you're all having a good day.

My moms friend had the same problem and after waiting months for an appointment she had to have her tooth pulled as it couldn't be saved anymore. I think you are making the right decision, not everything can wait.

The slow crumbling of the public health care here in Finland is the biggest reason why I am paying for health insurance as a back up plan. If I have something simple like an eye infection etc. or need a doctors note, it is just quicker to have it taken care of in the private sector. Emergencies, major health issues and bigger operations etc. are better taken care of in the public sector.

We all could write books on health care/ insurance couldn't we? I hope they can get you in sooner Lyn, dental issues can be very painful. Kerry just got a new rear molar screwed into place just yesterday. We already paid for it. I believe I once bought a brand new 1980 Chevy Chevette for 5300 dollars, her tooth was 300 less. We paid 2500 of that. Ouch!

I got away from going to NY in 2 weeks for her dad's birthday. It's all her family and it's a group I don't really connect with so im going to stay home. Kerry will go up then come home on Sunday. It's cool, I don't do things that i don't want to do...she knows who she married thankfully. On Monday we are leaving for a vacation to New England. We will go via Plymouth so Kerry can see Plymouth Rock. We are heading to Maine to spend time with friends who live in the brown house on the oceanfront at the top of this picture I took of a you tube video! See the house around the bend at the top? Looks to be gorgeous so im excited to go. Not sure how long yet but that should all begin falling into place over the next week or so. There are a lot of places we want to see while we are up there like the tidal walk between Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Im trying to convince Kerry to do the beehive hike there but she has a fear of heights and I don't breath too well so we'll see.20250811_195833_HDR.jpg

I was hoping to see "morning sun" on our front yard for the 1st time ever since our neighbors had trees removed yesterday but it figures, it's cloudy and hazy this morning! LOL
