What supermarkets do you have Cathie?
None that carry curry leaves even Aldi's. I'm going to visit Aldi's anyway to see what I can find in the Isle of shame.😊I was able to find curry powder though and additions that will come close. I'll have to order curry leaves online. I absolutely love the smell of cardamom! It will be so good in baked things like applesauce cake with penuche icing. So my little excursion into the recipe has been fun and inspiring.

I'm not sure what it would taste like but I wonder if bay leaves could be an alternative although I would suggest ordering curry leaves first.

My understanding of the word or implications of the meaning was that when I had left home as a kid....was living outdoors, stealing to eat and hadn't eaten in 2 weeks, not a thing going in my direction.....i had my sisu moment, my "come to Jesus" moment....when everyone and everything had failed me and part of me wanted to give up so badly but there was another part inside that said no way that was going to happen. Fast forward 50 some years....to today.....guess i was right. I didn't give up or in. LOL

Bottom line was that I was much younger than you are today....living on my own with hardly any skills. I personally know of no one else that did that.

So sorry if i butchered one of your words FT. Sometimes when there is so much stuff in the brain, it's like the Wizard looking in his bag for the Tinmans heart....sometimes the stuff doesn't come out quite right.
Well we can choose our family but we can't choose our relatives 😊 so

Bay was another alternative but I think I'll go with the curry powder and lemon balm leaves. This sure is an herby recipe. It also says lime leaves would be close but then I'd have to order a lime tree 😜 so why not curry leaves.😊it might be a flop by the time I get done but then I'll just pawn it off on someone🥴 Joe eats anything and I can at least try it once. I also have polite friends that'll try anything.. I'm good 👍

I saw on the news today that a second typhoon hit the Philippines. I didn't see a thing until today. Hopefully it ends up being not as bad as the last one with the loss of lives. It sure was flooding though.
Thank goodness the main part of the storm missed Rose's family. They got a lot of rain. Their house is on a hill in the subdivision they live in. A family member lives in a low spot in the same subdivision. Their house ended up with 2' of water in the house. Many of the families come to Rose's house to stay dry.

We do but haven't since mid Oct. It got cool out!

Leaving for a funeral in VA tomorrow. I was going to pass but I really should be there for Kerry on this one. At least I don't have to do the 14 gatherings over 4 days. Their family.. it's nuts. I signed on for 1 wake and 1 funeral service....and maybe the reception afterward. Scrooge right? I just hate funerals but it's not about me...God thats a tough concept. LOL
@Maro2Bear was a avid kayaker also. Hope he is doing ok. I miss his woodworking he does on his lathe.

Poor dog. Sorry dude...shes doting on you!

So exactly 1 week ago I saw this car and took a pic....very nice looking car right?
View attachment 396668
I never told anyone or showed the pic to anyone. Not even Kerry since she was with me! This evening son Linc sent his mom a picture of his new-to-him car....
Same car....Fiat Spider..but Abarth treatment.
What are the chances!

6 degrees folks...everything connects within 6 degrees!
I really like the Pontiac Soltice. The problem with the car is if you get the car with a removable hard top. There is no place to store in the car. You have to leave the hardtop at home. Screenshot_20251114_001217_Google.jpg

People pay a lot of money for an "indoor" pool. You KNOW it will only rain or snow when the top is forty miles away.... 🤣

When I was shopping for a 2 Seater convertible I looked at all of them including some of the BMW, Porsche, Honda, Pontiac, Mercedes, Chrysler & Alpha Romeos. Even a Lexus has one in the available price range and 1 very far above that mark!

Dang Indiana Jones;
Whenever faced with a choice now, I see the ancient guard at the chalice room.

I chose "wisely".

Yeah i stayed home from the funeral today. Kerry was there from 1-10 last night and back at it this morning for a fam breakfast. Thank you God for the courage to say "no" and a wife who can handle it!

On the upside, the deer came through followed by a tree crashing Buck. He was cleaning his antlers on the smaller trees, a 10 point I think. Pretty cool.

It's 36f out...tough to get motivated to do much. I switched out a ceiling fan in the 3rd bdrm to one that also has a light. 😞 I should have read the description better. You can't control the brightness at all..or the light color without turning it off then on again to the next warmer color. Ah well, at least it's not dark. LOL

I want to run the 2 new downspouts together underground and down the hill. The boots came yesterday but im still waiting on the pipe. I blocked one of them up in the gutter on purpose....it would have washed out gullies in the rain! It's water now flows 60 ft to the other downspout at the other end of the run and thankfully doesn't fill it!

Guess I need to move....enjoy the day guys!

PS. Note to self; NEVER eat @ MS Cathies house....ugh. Curry

Ok Jeff. Two things I never cook with are curry and cinnamon but I decided to give it a try anyway. Even though I hate them both. I think the word curried meat must mean something different than the spice. The actual taste of the stew is kinda citrusy and mellow at the same time. You can't taste either one. Mine turned out kinda soupy and I wish I had some garlic bread in the freezer but it will be nice tonight anyway. It was fun to cook. I almost forgot the garlic though 🥴IMG_20251114_173541417_HDR.jpg.

Any time I can get out of shopping online that's what I do. But I did finally manage to come up with something that tasted halfway decent. I might try to order some curry leaves just for GP and to find out if I'm actually missing out on something though😉

I did not attend the funeral N but I did watch part of it. They livestreamed it for family who couldn't attend. It was very nice and there were hundreds of people. Apparently the guy was a real prince of a man who reached out to those lower than himself, to pull them up.

Kerry would die for this.....kerry would. LOL I have a very boring palette according to my oldest. This looks delicious but I would have to take deep breaths first!

I spent 2 hours today disassembling, repairing and washing my little nearly 30 year old Dr Evil slam-doll.....when you hit it, it says a catchphrase. I set it up on the shelf with my 60 year old original Beanie & Cecil helicopter cap, a wooden jeff-replica made by my uncle don when I was 6 and an original......wait for it folks....
"Turbonator"! Yup that scam classic 1.5" ring of toothed sheetmetal that had millions believing it would give them better gas mileage in the 1970's by shoving it into their carburetors! The promise was that it would swirl the fuel/air mixture ensuring a better burn. The boys made millions
I just had to get one for the shelf.....it's still new in the box.

Original ad;
The Turbonator is a non-moving vortex generator that goes inside your air intake hose, right after your air filter.

How does it work?
The Turbonator's airflow dynamics produces a swirling, fast-burn effect in the combustion chamber. This creates finer particles of atomized fuel, allowing better flame propagation and more complete combustion.

Pure BS!! LOL They were sued several times but it didn't matter, no one could prove measurable damages because it couldn't do anything and it only cost 20 bucks! What a brilliant play on "the system".
