I don't know, I work harder and longer than I did when I worked....
Me to I was so busy after being retired. But I hated turning down the money. Since the accident I am truly retired. I also liked helping out friends repairing things for them. I used the word friends in the last sentence. But after the accident I don't get any calls. So it makes me wonder how truly they were friends. Tried calling a few of them just to say hello with no response. So after a few times of no return calls. I deleted and blocked them from my phone. Don't need people like that in my life.

I was very worried about the lack of snow in FINLAND...thankfully i can relax now. Thanks FT! Hey bud, are saunas really as popular there as I am reading? Seems like everyone has one....even if they don't own a car they own a sauna. At least that's what im reading. Is it true?

I'm with you MS Cathie....i have absolutely no idea how we managed to raise 3 kids, coach 55 different kid teams, hold a full time job AND get the stuff done that i wanted to do. Must have been magic!

Friends of our just adopted the cutest little 5 yr old girl. Here she is wearing the hat Kerry knitted for her.

Our friends are 56 & 60 years old! LMAO they have no idea what they have unleashed!
Also you all in Finland, if you have a sauna at home. Do you go in naked and then after awhile. Do you go out and lay in the snow? They say it's good for the heart.

I think the Finnish Harvia has some market in the US, they make sauna stoves (is that what you call it in English?).

But from what I have heard, I would never step a foot in those saunas you have in US gyms!
After a heavy night of partying. I would go to the gym and sit in the sauna for as long as I could. It was great to get sweat the substances I put in my knee body the night before. Then take a shower and go to the bar and start out drinking bloody mary's. The next day rince and repeat. Oh the days of being single.

Yes we always go in naked. As for laying in the snow, most prefer to do it in a private property 😁 As for being good for the heart, ice swimming is also part of going to the sauna for some (if you have a sauna by the lake, or some go to public ice swimming spots or have ice swimming clubs), I myself have gone only a few times.

Here's where we find out that FT has a "Nibbler boat". Sure, go ahead and Google it.....its where our crazy Northern friends put a chainsaw or large circular saw on the back of a boat and they let the teeth of the saw push their boats across the ice! The You Tube videos are a hoot!

"Life has been a long and winding series of temporary relationships" has been a true statement for me. I think it can be intensly depressing to ponder too long but for me it's been true. You all know what i did for a living.....not one call from anyone I ever worked with, not even those who followed me company to company over the course of decades. I have arrived at the profound idea that people don't like me in person. If they did they would be around, right? Of course there is that part where im not a big fan of most folks cause they suck as people....maybe that pushes folks away?? LOL

So don't feel bad Ray....you are just going through a crappy patch of life for a couple weeks. Me too buddy, me too!

Unfortunately no nibbler boat for me, but I have driven a car on one of these ice roads on top of a lake. Here is an example of what one looks like:

@jeff kushner, & @Ray--Opo, don't feel so bad, sometimes it's better that way.
I'm much in the same boat, But just as I have my farm, and thus can't sleep in, go away for any length of time, or go on Vacations . . It is what it is, and ( I ) made it that way, for better or worse.

I'm uncomfortable around new folks, I'm not a conversationalist. Put me in a group of folks who have a task, and I can work with that, but in a strictly social environment . . I'm the wall flower.
Re: relationships, I've been retired since 2018, and there is a handful of old co-workers who I chose to stay in touch with. Most of my co workers I kept at arms length, as I personally didn't think they were nice people. I'd much rather be around a bunch of animals, as I would with people. I just don't care for the drama, life is too short. And I have found that friendships rise and wane. It's just natural, as WE all change over time, and friendships that worked in the past, just don't mesh any more.
I have some new friends. I volunteer once a month with a group of folks from The El Sobrante Valley, WE are the "94803 Green Team" we get together once a month on the 3rd Saturday from 10am to 12 pm, Picking up trash in our area, Been doing it for about 4 years now, Have met some really nice folks who ( I ) chose to associate with, and they seem to like me, too.
So, maybe your better off this way, and if it's important . . you can change that...

Wow, driving where you cannot crash FT! Love it...good for you.

Yes MG, we can all change...but we rarely do. I am a realist about some things. It doesn't have to mean it's all bad. I keep meeting new people and the few old friends worth a salt still hang around so it's ok. It's better than the ripping and running I did when I dated every night! Much better!

If you're in the El Sobrante valley you and Kerry can go and see Marsha and Yvonne.
