My opinion of a sauna is no thanks. I don't do swimming pools, bathtubs , lakes, oceans, rivers or anything like it. Me and my tortoise are like-minded. Give me a shower and I'll be fine. Sapphire doesn't mind sitting a bit after but I do.🤔
I don't like hot tubs, it's like sitting in a stew of other people's dead skin cells. 🤢

Dear Lyn,

Are you okay after all the rain?

Natrah
We had flood alerts and the river did rise quite a bit, but thankfully no flooding here. A town called Monmouth on the Wales/England border had very bad flooding which reached areas that have never flooded before.
I blame all these housing developments on green belt land. More concrete - less land and trees to absorb rain.😢

In other words I ain't raking up all those leaves. Those were her fault.
Mother nature needs to do her fair share. And you know how I feel about her.
Wildlife organisations here advise us to just put them to the side if we can't leave them where they fall for the bugs. Or you can get great leaf mold for the garden by bagging them up in black bags with a few holes and leaving them a while.

I agree with Lyn to a point. I don't like getting into someone else's tub. My own is just for me...im funny that way!

So yesterday and today has been: How to revive a Robotclawn mower Li PO battery pack that won't charge! These things are expensive at 150-230 dollars. This one died because I didn't use the 2nd mower this year and the battery locked up.

The internet is full of guarantees and fixes. It turns out there is a BMS or battery management system. It shuts down completely when voltage drops too low and you have to wake it up before you can charge it! After several failed methods I found that if you jolt it with 5volts more than the native voltage, it wakes. So this is a 26volt pack. I need at least 31 volts so I connected my 56 volt leaf blower battery with jumper wires for a couple of seconds then reconnected the regular battery charger for it and it works now! Yay!

re: hot tubs - I feel like they are people soup. I don't wear other people's underwear, sitting in their bathwater seems pretty similar. If its got enough disinfectant in it to kill off whatever, its as bad as not having anything... thoughts of Bhopal, India... itchy skin when you get out... itchy the whole next day or two... if you go in with any sort of skin protection lotion it clogs the filters...

On a personal note - I have enough Scottish blood, not quite to the point of translucent eyelashes and flame hair, but can spend 47 seconds in the sun and have a sunburn (always use a 50 SPF). Same applies to hot water - I end up glow-in-the-dark-red at five or ten minutes in really hot water. Its ever-so-attractive.

And - Getting a Hot Tub is like getting a boat. For the first little bit, everyone is excited and it gets used a lot. Then it sits disused, being just another thing that needs upkeep and attention, a chore. Then parts break. Pretty soon it is something that you are very happy to get rid of.

They were a "thing" here thirty or fifty years ago. Now not so much.

Thanks for the tip Jeff.
I have the same problem with a couple of rechargeable appliances. I'll look into waking them up before scraping completely.

Good morning all.
It's a beautiful cold but sunny winter's day here. I'm going to try to fit in a nice walk today.
Lola is still in his hide, but peeping out looking to see if his breakfast has been served. He's spending less time wandering now the temps have dropped but he's still eating well.
I'd better get my chores done if I'm to make the most of a dry day, so TTFN - hope you all have a good Tuesday.

I found a recipe I wanted to try and finally did today. It's tumeric roasted chicken with sliced fennel and onions sliced oranges and a lime in a marinade of white wine, orange juice and olive oil. The right spices and here's what it looks like.IMG_20251125_171354359.jpg

I'm lucky with the Crab Apple tree and the crepe Myrtle when it comes to leaves. I don't have tremendous amounts dropping and piling up sky high. One of my brothers mows and it chops it all up into mulch. Even the apples that don't get scarfed up by wildlife around here get mulched. I've only had one bad year with the Crab Apple. But everyone had a year of such a bumper crop with fruit trees that the weight of the fruit broke limbs. That year I made Crab Apple jelly and I still had to clean up apples 🥴🤔😭

I grew up on an apple orchard in Ann Arbor MI. To me;
"Crab apples are a promise unfulfilled"

So how cool was this stuff?

This is Jack Sandhass, Kerry's dad. He used to be the US Army's best marksman circa 1955(sometimes listed as 56). Today he is a 95 year old veteran who can still hit the targets including the water bottle on the hill. Kudos to him.

When Kerry told me last year that he hasn't shot in decades, I began planning this day. She wouldn't let me take him back then but this time she realized that she was being overprotective. Yesterday he and i went for a mile walk while Kerry went up to the school for a bit. He's fine!

I like doing cool stuff and that qualified$

I like that tree. Many days people reach up as they're walking by. They'll just grab an apple off the tree for a snack.😊 I'm always tickled pink because that's one crab apple I don't have to pick up 😉 and the more wildlife the merrier.😁
