I called him in the evening and he texted back that he was out and will call back today.
Guys don't worry much when we don't hear from other guys .....its just what guys do, we don't have drama.

I think he dry-needled my hips. Made a big difference yesterday morning but I dug and moved a couple loads of dirt to level Matt's new homesite in the evening. Ouch. I got it done but could hardly walk. The hot tub doesn't help that pain.
It's ok again this morning thankfully.

I called the tree guy and he dropped off a free load of wood chips. 3-4 yds! If you get them early in the year there is no leaf content. It makes a strong and inexpensive base material to cover with Black mulch where she parks her car. It's cheap filler material. We have to level it out and i need some in the back yard in one corner. In other words, more shoveling today...! I'm not really complaining....its a Thursday and mulch is my biggest worry.

Today I learned how bad the Winter beat me down. I'm in terrible shape...LOL

We moved some dirt and mulch yesterday. Today I can't hardly lift my arms and we have more to do today.

I'm doing good....sore but good
Ray is doing good....sore but good. Funny how that works 1100 miles apart but i got sore doing yard work, Ray got sore spraying paint...with a spraycan. In not going to tease my friend....but Im doing better than Ray. I have zero shame. LOL

It's been very busy at the Nook this past week. Kerry has been driving up to help her son move into his 1st home. I thought when I offered to have his place painted as a home-warming present that it would free Kerry up. It didn't. It just cost 1800 to have her moving stuff instead of painting! LOL
I did explore his 1 acre property and brought home 2 Salamanders!

Lowe's is threatening to deliver all the stuff for Matt's new outdoor home so I returned the pitchfork borrowed from one neighbor and made plans to borrow a post hole digger from a friend for later this week.

We got our electric bill for our very cold feb and part of March. It was $131. That's everything but heat. I guess I insulated the got tub pretty well! I was concerned that it could have added 50-$60 to our bill. Whew!

It doesn't include that great big propane tank out behind the sheds but we won't fill it till summer and we will forget that it costs $900 to fill for the year but that 131 is awesome today!

Anyone see the "Afro-man" You Tube videos? Apparently the local Adams Co cops did this guy dirty and he is crushing them online in rap songs using the video from when they kicked in his door so badly they sued him for character revealing I guess.
So now we all know who they are....because they lost and lost badly. Childlike case work comes to mind! They must have used a discount lawyer?

What's hilarious is how he accurately described 1 of the cops as "Lemon pound cake" because in his home video, it's very clear that the Sarge is thinking about taking a slice as they break into and enter Afromans home!
His descriptions are priceless..."lickemlowlisa" had me rolling on the floor!

That man is making lemonade from scum...and im sure he is making a crapload of money off of them too! Sweet karma....she always shows me a good time!

I'm kinda going through some stuff right now. The passing of my dear kid Woodie last week, shook me. I knew it was coming. Went to a new local community funded coffee shop "The Good Table", a week ago Sunday to have lunch with my friend Missy, from the next valley over. Spent an hour catching, up, she had to go, and some other friends showed up. I wanted to show them a picture of Woodie, but couldn't find my phone, must have left it in the truck. Spent an other hour chatting them up, then left. Hum, no phone in my truck, dang, did I leave it at home, I thought I had it when I was talking to my friend Missy. Got home could not find it, did a "find my phone" on my PC, said it was back at The Good Table, rushed down there and asked my friend behind the counter if anyone turned in a phone . . Oh, THIS one! I'm all messed up right now. saying good by to my Natalie on my birthday in July 24, and my Shadow girl, just before Halloween 24, and my dear Penny just before Thanksgiving 24, and Dusty Boy Penny's African Grey bird in July of 25...is all creeping back. Trying to get my tax papers turned in to my preparer took hours over multiple days has got me . . . . stressed. and it is all compounding...
Oh, and Jeff, your hips . . my lower back as been giving me problems for the last 10 days or so, Bending over to clean kennels, leaves me in that bent over position, like an OLD lady, and I have to stand away from the kitchen counter, and lean on it to loosen and straighten up my back. Fortunately that has subsided for the last few days...
Getting old is NOT for the faint of heart...

Been quite warm here for the last 10 days. NO RAIN since the 25th of February. It's going to be a bad wildfire year. We have enough stored water for the year, but there's no telling about next year.
Since getting diagnosed with emphysema, I have not used my wood burner to keep the house warm, instead using electric space heaters to warm the back half of the house. Got several estimates for a new whole house heating/cooling system, $27k, will sign the papers in the next day or so. Thing is the gas floor heater in the front of the house costs $300 a year to run, hum . . .$27k divided by $300.... But I have $1000/year of extra electricity that I'm not using that will pay for running this new system..My head is clouded, spinning....

Dear Marsha,

I'm so sorry to hear about dear Woodie. You did your best for and he will always be with you in your heart. I lost Daisy in 2022 and dad in 2019 four days before Father's Day. I then had to move out of my home in 2021 and a year later all the stuff that was in storage was lost a few months before losing Daisy. Take things slowly and give yourself to grieve

Yep I agree you have to be brave as heck to get old. I thought I would get to retire someday...boy did I get fooled. I still have to figure out what's for dinner everyday of my life for everyone for the rest of my life. Maybe I'm just too good of a cook I'm doing the same with my back as the rest of us too .It sucks.And then there's cleaning up the mess. Isn't it lovely to be needed though? I hope and pray for us all. We sure need it

Last night Kerry and i were both pretty beat up from the last few days. My leg was so bad I could hardly walk yesterday but i did manage to install the base station for the back yard mowing robot. Im still waiting for another 500' roll of wire to finish up but the base station was a job I could handle.

I was so sore that i felt like one of those broken people from Ca that walks sideways from drugs on Tweaker Geographic. A 45 minute hot tub followed by 15 minutes of TENS on both my back and leg right before bed made it feel so good. Woke at 4 feeling much better! Yay jeff!

Good thing too. I got a text notice from Lowe's this morning saying 80 landscape blocks, 4 bag of concrete and a load of lumber are coming today.

Guess I'll be doing a repeat treatment this evening.
