Common cold?

No. They can get other things that would appear equivalent to what humans get as a cold.
Usually if you see a runny or bubbly nose on a tortoise it is due to stress. Relieve the stress, keep the tortoise slightly warmer than usual and the runny nose goes away without intervention.
We just call them "colds", but really it's probably due to stress or a URI... Good luck 
Thanks! It was not nose but eyes - runny (like crying) with a little matter and eye lids took on a chalky look. Digger got listless. Did daily one hour soaks and he is better. Suspect not enough humidity. Weather got too hot for afternoons in his run and I worked out of studio for a few days so he was in terrarium. His new run is finished and he is spending a couple morning hours in there. He is smiling again and goes to his first vet visit today.
