Just for fun, what would you think this tortoise is worth on todays market. The tortoise is 32" SL and about 120 pounds. Very friendly and looks very healthy. The owner thinks it is a male.

Galaxy far, far away...
I would have absolutely no idea, so I will guess $10,000+ but I'm not basing that on anything at all.

What adds to the value of an animal like this? Is it breeding stock? Would a female be more valuable than a male? Attraction value for a zoo in the form of increased ticket sales? Private collection? Just wondering.

What a good looking guy. I have no clue how to price something like that. If I were to guess, I would say that he would probably sale for around 11,500 or maybe 12,500. I'm sure that I am way off. You're the expert in that giants field.

Great questions!! I would love to know the answer to those as well.

I was actually just wondering the other day about adult Aldabra values, so I'd love to hear what you have to say on the topic when this poll is done Greg. I would guess most likely over 10k just cause I've seen younger ones advertised for that much.

I'm guessing 5-7. At the reptile show that I was just at they had some little ones for $2,000... So that's what I'm basing my guess from...
