DIY Ramp

Hi everyone!
I added a little loft to Luigi's enclosure, and the only problem is I'm struggling with making a ramp up to it. I've tried rocks and bricks and Luigi just can't climb up easily. Any advice on how to make one?

What about wood with this on top of the wood for grip?

I lined a piece of of wood with some little log halves and used hinges from the hardware department to attach the plank of wood to the crate. However after a couple months the little logs broke off from humidity, the hot glue didn't hold.

Turns out my torts have no problem walking up the smooth plank ramp.
