Ugh. So I was scrolling through the super cool tortoise table app, and I discover that all the hornwort I just yanked out of my aquarium could have been tortoise food, if rinsed well. Probably trashed or gave away three gallon baggies full of it.
So, secondary question, for future reference, I only use a simple tap water conditioner in my tank, No other chemicals. In theory, if I Yank the rest of my hornwort out and rinse it for a long time in warm to hot water, is there any reason I can't feed it? Tortoise table says it is safe.

Are those water conditioners riddled with salt? I mean, what is the material used to in the water conditioner?
