Dome reflector question

Hello,

I’ve been searching through all the threads and am hoping to clarify if it is more encouraged to get a reflector dome. I have a 3 month old sulcata, and I have an Arcadia flood light. Is it preferred to have a dome reflector to better direct the heat or do you prefer not to have one?

Thanks so much!

Yes, it's better to have the domes. At least a 10 inch wide one or wider.
They can be bought cheaper at home depot, maybe your Walmart or if a hardware store has them. Possibly a farm animal feed store will have them for chickens.
Just be sure it has a ceramic socket, not plastic.

For your setup as shown in other thread, I prefer to not use domes and like the brackets youre using. The bulb has a reflector built in and a che doesnt need a reflector so I don't think the domes are necessary. If you were using a plain incandescent bulb, like A21, then a dome would be a good idea.
