No problem! There have been instances of the clamps failing so definitely wanted to give you the heads up on that. Oh lol I’m with you! Yes don’t worry, it will feel warm when on🙂
hi, i was planning on buying a mesh screen to place over the enclosure so i could set the lights on top, rather than precariously balance them. do you know what type is best and won't melt or anything?

Mesh top is convenient but filters UVB (10 to 50%) and makes heating less effective. I would opt for cable trays, kitchen plate trays or wielded wire and hang heating/lightning under the mesh with hooks/chains.

Hopefully Alex suggestions help🙂you could perhaps make your own stand quite cheaply to hang the dome from a chain on too if you wanted, just two pieces of timber wood, some screw in hooks, chain and clip ends for the chain😊

yeah i think i'll just do that lol. by the way, do you know why she isn't eating, or possible reasons? she ate two days ago, but suddenly won't eat. i also haven't seen her poop for a while, and last time it was runny. i'm worried :(

Does she walk a lot as usual? This can be an impaction or temperatures are too low/high. I don't think she is trying to brumate yet but that's possible too.

yes she still walks. i think she has a decent range of temps, she can just walk to a warmer place if the temperature is too low. she really likes walking, and she will always walk no matter what. nothing i do stops her lol

Try long daily soaks, 40 to 60 minutes keeping the water warm until you see poop. Small amounts of dilurantic foods like lettuce, cucumber, succulents or pumpkin might help the food to pass.

Try the suggestions above and keep a close eye, has she been put in the new set up or are you waiting till you’ve done the stand etc? Because if she’s been in the new one, maybe she’s just been stressed by the recent change which is normal, but if not, I’m not 100% certain because there can be multiple reasons, hopefully the others advice will help🙂

I am not too concerned yet, but I would try to get him to poop and keep a close eye on any straining or walking problems.
i gót her to poop, but they're really tiny. maybe only a fingernail in size. i've attached images below, and here is a link to a video of her walking. is there anything concerning or am i just very worried?

It’s good that she’s passed something so definitely keep up with the daily long soaks for now, hopefully things will keep moving in the right direction, how’s her appetite been?
Her walking is a little strange but I wouldn’t say worse than the other video, so it could just be the issues as previously discussed, which will hopefully start to improve too the more she’s out and about🙂

she hasn't taken a bite out of her food at all. oh, and how strange is her walking? is it a big concern or is she just like that?

i also have pictures of the coco coir i added in the enclosure. the bottom layer is REALLY DAMP, and the top is really dry. should i mix the two? is that okay? eventually she'll mix them herself since she digs so much though.... each layer is about 1 inch but the back where she burrows has enough to cover nearly her full shell. how can i regulate the humidity? i've been pouring water like you suggested, there is maybe a whole bucket in this box right now.

It’s just the dragging like you mentioned previously that appears a little strange to me, but hopefully she just needs to build her strength by walking round more.
The lack of food would explain the lack of poop but we’ll have to try and figure out why her appetite is off, I’m thinking it’s possibly a little bit of stress from some of the recent changes
Bottom layer being damp is good, the top will dry out from the heating, you can give a spray/mix now n then if you feel it’s looks dusty on top, that will also boost humidity, what’s it reading? These guys don’t need it too high as adults🙂I wouldn’t do any more pouring for now but a 1 inch layer might dry quite quickly, so I’d add a few more inches if you can👍

sadly the digital monitor hasn't arrived in the mail yet... 😭 and i could add more, but i'd end up mixing the orchid bark with the coco coir in the process. is that ok?

Question….

Can you take some of her poop to be tested at the vets?
(She does not have to go with you.)
Maybe she has parasites 🦠 and that would make her “not hungry “.
Her walking seems fine but yet a little off.
It maybe because her little legs have to carry around that big butt of hers.? 🤭
She needs thicker legs. (Like mine 😳)
But this could just be a case of parasites 🦠. The vet has meds for that.
NO INJECTIONS!!!!

🙏❤️

sadly my mom won't let me :( i think if there are parasite, the poop would show it right? i looked closely and nothing seemed off. when she pooped last time, it was very loose and fell apart. now, it can hold its shape a bit better. i assumed that parasites = loose stool, haha. i want to make sure that there is something wrong, that is out of my control, before asking my mom. she will get mad otherwise :(
