Hello! I’m new here and am excited to learn from you all!!

I have a Sulcata that I rescued in 2020, he’s a guy and growing big and strong. We used to bring him in at night for safety and warmth, but he’s getting too big for us to lift without injuring ourselves lol. Therefore, we’ve been leaving him out at night to sleep in his doghouse. We started doing this in the summer when it wasn’t very cold at night, but moving into the winter I’m starting to get worried he’s too cold out there. He has a plastic doghouse and I currently have no insulation for him. Nighttime temperatures are starting to average maybe a little over 50 degrees. I’ve put blankets and towels in there before which I think definitely helped, but he gets tangled up in them sometimes so that worries me. What sort of insulation or heating can I use for him? Thank you!IMG_8250.jpeg

The temperature in the box shouldn't drop below 80F. You should get a properly insulated, heated box to provide this. Here are the details:

A dog house is for dogs, not tortoises. You need to build him an insulated heated night box and it needs to stay at 80 day and night.
Search for Toms night box threads.
