What are thoughts/ideas of turning this into an enclosure for my 4-5" Russian?

We have two of these type displays at my pet store. One is completely square and open, it holds parakeets that have their wings clipped and the other has dividers making it into 3 smaller spaces for rabbits and g-pigs. They're great for display purposes but a pain in the toosh to clean and reach things.

Free get it. I'd pay for that. Looks like a nice size for hatchlings.

That's what I was worried of, though. My Male Russian is about 4-5", I was hoping this size would be ok for just him?

Awesome, @Tyanna !!!! Having glass cut isn't that expensive. Heck, you could cover it up with aluminum until you get the glass cut or even just go with plywood permanently. Moving the sucker doesn't look too fun, but that could be a really great upgrade for your tort:) I want to see pictures if you decide to go for it :)

Even somehow placing plexiglass over it would work. I'm not sure if we'll do it, CURRENTLY ourapartment isn't fully finished yet, so we are still at the in laws with very limited space. I'm trying to figure something out because I want it (especially since my open topped table might not be a good mix for future kitty we might get)

I would get it. Especially if it is an upgrade for what you already have. And it's free so what the heck :) Will this be a year-round enclosure or just winter?

Uh-oh! Gotta keep the kitty out!--what a wonderful "challenge." Cats are awesome. It sounds like good things are coming your way:) I thought about plexi glass too. I use it all the time and it's not expensive. I only worried that lights and heating elements might heat the plexi up too much, but I'd be happy to be wrong. I understand your space concern. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I've only had my tortoise for a few months, but I have big plans for his outdoor enclosure this coming summer, so I would hope any enclosure I have in the future will only be winter months :)

I would definitely cover that, but more for humidity purposes, the cats here don't care about the torts! :D but I'd get it before it's gone... free? I'd be going to call him right now! :p :D ;)

I contacted him, but like I said I'm not sure if I can get it, be chase the in laws might not want to store it until our apartment is done being built! We will see. Either way gotta figure out how to cover either of the enclosures, I don't want any accidents lol!
