One side of the tank is semi open and I have a hood with a clamp, I'll just snap it on there
If its a clamp on fixture, place a zip tie through it or secure it with wire, etc. Those types have a nasty habit of failing, causing the whole hot bulb and socket to fall down into the enclosure. Then plan on replacing that also, soon. Also check to make sure that it is rated to hold such a high wattage bulb. You will need one with a white ceramic socket rated for at least 100 watts if your bulb is 100 watts.
You're almost there.
Do some experiments with your new black CHE. Raise it. Lower it. Move it. Until you find the spot that works the best on getting and keeping the heat.

It's been holding humidity well and when I get home from work I'm gonna mess around with it, we just lost our newest sulcata and we are upset. Did everything the same with our bigger sulcata humidity, temp, eating, outside time and she just shut down and passed away. So we are trying to get this down correctly, and to top it off she passed on my bday. I just would like to thank everybody for the information and time
