First time caring for a red footed tortoise and am looking for feedback on if his enclosure looks suitable/would need any adjustments? Left side is a combo of coconut coir and topsoil, ~85 degrees (little less than 90 directly under lamp), usually between 70-85% humidity. Right side is just topsoil, ~80 degrees, between 80-95% humidity. I know a glass enclosure can potentially be stressful for them, but it's what we have right now - we'll probably eventually switch him to a tortoise table.
We've had him for a little over a week now and he seems to be doing well. He LOVES to eat and explore, but he keeps his eyes closed most of the time except for during his daily soaks and while eating. His eyes aren't swollen or sunken or anything like that and he's just a baby so he's probably just sleepy, but could his humidity or heat possibly be too low?
Thanks in advance!
