Hello. I've been looking for marginated tortoises to adopt. I came across a post someone wrote.
The owner was selling a marginated tortoise and an ibera greek tortoise(apparently kept together in a 3' x 1.5' enclosure). I was only interested in the marginated tortoise and it just so happened that the greek tortoise was sold.
The owner said zir tortoise was sold to zir as a female but the margie's 13cm (5.1 inch) now. So I don't think the previous owner was sure.
Does this tortoise look female to you?

It's possible they affect the price, and I actually do prefer a female because they generally grow smaller. To me, ne looks female, but I'm not familiar with sexing torts, so... I'm asking you :) Any opinions?

I'm not familiar with that species, but the tail looks pretty small (female).

It may not even be sexually mature yet. But if it is.. possible female.

At 5" (13cm), this Margie is still way too young/small to sex reliably. If I remember correctly, they need to be at least 8" long, and even then, there are late bloomers that grow a male tail at a bit older.
